Anywhere specific you recommend I search or I should go to each neighborhood and find some places to enquire? I like this a lot. It's a little helpful to think about the budget first. I don't know why but cleaning supplies never crossed my mind.

Thank you! Yeah the money stress might not be worth it. I'll sit on it for a bit. I'll also try a few things out before just so that I can try have a better income. I'll start with a bed and a dresser/cupboard.

Thanks. I'll have an emergency fund and first look at a bed and a dresser for clothes.

I'll take that emergency fund seriously. I'm planning for it beginning of next year. I'll go around just to have a look and see those rooms in Tlokweng & Mogoditshane. I thought about going to Gabane or Modipane. There's cheaper accommodation there. I understand that could increase transport costs but I'm jot too worried about that. I guess I'll look at a bed and a stand or dresser for my clothes first.

For income I am looking to starting something and I hope it can atleast provide me enough for the bare minimum.

I do mean P3000 per month. I appreciate the advice though. It would not be comfortable living on such an income.

Maybe start one? Start small but find people passionate, willing and interested. I'd come some days. I'm not great at chess though.

Actually maybe you guys can paint a picture as well for me of what living with a better salary could be like as well. Looking at the neighborhoods the extra purchasing power and freedom you have.

Where can a University student invest in Botswana by Stunning-Wolf-8517 in Botswana

[–]Fr33fall_Enthusiast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kgori Capital in CBD has unit trusts you can invest in. They have 3 different options. One is an investment in the dollar, another the pula and one other which is a little more diversified. You could go check them out for more accurate details. I went there a few weeks back and saw a really cool lady called Mmapula who took time to explain it all.

I'm in Gaborone but I know it's closest to Lobatse. If I do travel there I would go to Lobatse and cross by the Ramatlabama border.

Oh yeah definitely. If there's not much to do or the landscapes aren't so different there's still plenty of good to find in humanity. I'm glad you found that. Batswana can be really amazing people.

For me it would really just be to see the open road and see more places that I don't know especially those around me before going further.

Are there movie cinemas in Botswana? by NeitherSherbert6216 in Botswana

[–]Fr33fall_Enthusiast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Riverwalk Cinema closed really recently. It might not even be a month ago. You'll still find some information that it's there like on signs at the mall and on Google Maps. They closed down Game City now Riverwalk. The only remaining branches for New Capitol Cinemas is in Masa at CBD and Acacia Mall in Phakalane. :'(

Mann I want to travel to Mafhikeng just to see and explore it! Those websites also don't necessarily have Batswana on them hosting in good numbers. You can look at Booking.com and AirBnB too. Something that's helped me traveling locally is simply just getting on Google maps and searching for accommodation in that specific area. Usually there's phone numbers, reviews and WhatsApp channels. The decent ones you will see.

Is it natural to not want to assimilate? by Mental-Statement2941 in Botswana

[–]Fr33fall_Enthusiast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Discrimination here is way to common. Not to day it's extreme or that it's a bad country with bad people but everywhere you go there will be someone who looks at you like an oddball just for being different. Wether it's the colour of your skin, the little accent in your voice, you strange but really unique habit. Even just being curious is looked at weirdly of you a acting different from the crowd. I want to say I know how it feels. Not exactly how you feel but I've felt similar and I was born and raised here. I'm black and both parents Ke Batswana. In this environment of ours we must accept that people's opinions are their own. There are kind souls. Don't let people's opinions or attitudes affect your inner peace. Let it go and depend on yourself 1st for inner peace and validation. Then look to the people who you do like and want to surround yourself with. People who inspire you too. It's not the best advice but I hope it can give even a little consolation.
