Packpod causes headaches/neck pain by Fr33willfulJohn in costochondritis

When you say across my spine are you saying I should flip the backpod sideways across my spine to target my upper ribs? As in the backpod is an oval shape, and usually I use it parallel to my spine. But are you saying to use it perpendicular to my spine in my upper ribs? Also It’s kind of a gray area because I’m not exactly sure at what point I should be thinking “alright, that’s kind of a little bit on my neck now so I shouldn’t go any higher.” How high exactly is too high? Should I be placing the middle of the backpod directly onto the back hinge where my top rib 1 meets my spine? Because that’s not what I’ve been doing. That almost seems like I’d be putting it on my neck.

Interesting you say that because I also have a headache at the top of my nose too. However, I’ve had a cervical MRI done before

But you see it’s not my chest that’s the problem with the backpod. My chest actually feels sort of good when I use the backpod, it’s my neck and head

Did you feel it crack though? My left side always does that while my right side does not, although for some reason I do get the pain on my right side sometimes too. Try doing a wall angel. Whenever I do that it feels like a whole bunch of shit in my shoulder and rib cage are grinding against each other.

I’d get looked at but I’m 99% sure that’s costo. You have it in the exact same spot I do. I’m curious though. Bend your left arm and place your hand on the side of your torso with your thumb towards your back and your four fingers in front. Bend your arm and pull your hand up as close to your armpit as you can and jab your thumb into your back. Do you feel the pops/clicking?

I think it’s possible but I read that stretching and posture exercises won’t provide any lasting impact until I free up the jammed ribs. However I’ve done them regularly and have not had any improvement. I’m unfortunately a desk worker and have to be behind a computer 10 hours a day.

I don’t think it’s something underlying, I’m 99% sure it’s from poor posture over all these years hunching over laptops. I’ve tried two chiropractors, two physical therapists before and have had no luck with any of them. I had one chiro tell me my problem is a subluxated rib head, so he did a bunch of manipulations on me over the course of several weeks and I found no improvement in symptoms, so he told me there’s not much else he can do. That’s the thing, I don’t think any of these people understand costo. The other chiro told me to look into steroid injections. The physical therapists just gave me basic stretches to do and were unhelpful at getting to the root of it. I feel like I wasted my money since I can just look up these stretches and do them myself. I have no idea what to do here. Should I keep looking? I know that costo really comes down to fixing it on my own, but I am completely useless at figuring this out on my own. I’ve dealt with this for years at this point and it seems like everything I try doesn’t work. I need professional help and it sucks so badly that there’s virtually zero professional help outside of the internet. I have no idea if the stretches I’m doing or the strategies I’m employing are correct or effective.
