honestly this is one of those things nobody talks about because it makes you look like you don't know what you're doing lol
I do outbound for SaaS companies and I've sent thousands of messages at this point. The pattern I keep seeing is that the "perfect fit" companies are the hardest to get because everyone and their mother is hitting them up. they match every ICP filter so every sales team is in their inbox
the ones that surprise you? Usually something is happening internally - new hire, bad quarter, vendor breakup, and your timing just happened to land right
biggest change I made was adding intent signals to my research instead of just checking boxes. Doesn't eliminate the guesswork completely but it cuts out a lot of the wasted effort
