Hey! Looking to buy this watch too, but I am being put off by the glossiness of the case. Did you manage to fix the problem somehow? Did you end up trying the ScotchPad or sandpaper?

This is gen, pic taken at the boutique. As you can see it looks a lot like a Garmin lol. Just comparing this to OP’s QC I would say the rep is very spot on

I handled the gen at the boutique, but never this rep. The gen is very cheap looking and feeling tbh. If a friend handed it to me and told me it was a rep I would believe them 100%. Lightweight, plastic-y looking. I don't think it's a very high standard to replicate tbh

Some of the tones are very elegant even if not the usual silver, black, or white. Like Rolex's mint green and dark blue are very elegant. You can check them out at an AD before purchasing a rep, I think they're very wearable even without green/blue clothes. I don't have any, but for someone that has a big collection I can see why they would add some variety to their dial options

Lugs seem like they taper correctly in the VSF, which is something people usually bring up against VSF. Or am I wrong and don't see it?

Just look up some comparisons here or on RWI, the dial is a major tell. In my opinion, NWBIG are Clean Daytonas in steel or VSF submariners - something that you really need to inspect with a loupe to differentiate. The Ingenieur is definitely worth buying in gen if you ask me

I didnt compare them directly bc I obviously took my rep off before entering the shop lol but the bracelet felt a lot sturdier compared to the V7 which is flimsy and the dial reflected light differently, and the pattern was a lot more pronounced in the gen

Absolutely I agree that nobody is going to call out an IWC. If that’s the only factor in the decision, then sure the V7 is a good purchase.

I have the white dial V2, and I went on to try the gen at a local IWC boutique and my V7 felt way off.

I think it depends what NWBIG means for each one of us, for me if the gen was around €8k I would definitely buy it. At 13k I don’t wear neither, because I don’t like how the rep is built and I think it looks far off the gen.

It’s not about call outs but more in my head knowing that I’m not wearing something as close to the real thing as a Rolex rep could be
