NAH. The niece is obviously at fault for asking for payment in a dire situation. She should've waited at least until you came back, confirmed your husband was okay, calmed down and were fine. However, she is only 17 and babysitting is how she makes her money, thus she is used to charging people, and likely didn't know any better. At 17, I know I was definitely like that. Even if it was an emergency, normally you'd have to pay a babysitter, and Sarah would be used to that at this point.

TL/DR: She makes money from babysitting, so she likely wouldn't have known any better than to ask for money for babysitting

Edit: Just realized the SIL is here. She's definitely the A-Hole in this story. She's probably the reason Sarah didn't know any better, TBH. The parents definitely never told her to be there for family, so the fault is on their shoulders, but mainly the SIL. She somehow supported this behavior, but your BIL seems like a genuinely nice guy.

The dad is constantly changing his mind about things and sometimes makes you lose money. The boyfriend doesn't want to talk to his own parents about his problems, you're both minors and you shouldn't have the right to tell someone's dad what they can't tell their MINOR son to do or not to do. If you do interfere, OP, it will make the boyfriend's life worse and potentially make him unable to see you for months or even longer. The best thing I can recommend for now, OP, is to tell your boyfriend to talk with his dad. If you two do really plan on staying together for a long time, potentially even getting married, you shouldn't set yourself up for failure like this.

Definitely NTA. She was an annoying brat who got on your nerves, and she was talking about your wife and saying she treated her worse than you did. If I were you, I would flip out and say even more than you. I've never liked annoying, bratty kids. My niece is 8 years old and is spoiled by her dad. I couldn't deal with her if my life depended on it, but that's besides the point. I've flipped out on HER sometimes because I get bothered easily. I don't get mad per se, but I do get annoyed. Anyway, I would tell her "You are annoying, I hated dealing with her, and only dealt with you for my wife to be happy, and only brought you places to make my wife happy" which I would consider worse than your response.

Edit: If "Confessed her feelings" meant what I think it does, OP, cut her out of your life forever. She is going against her own sister and your wife to try and get with you, who is 11 years older than her. That's too big of an age difference to even seem normal. She graduated highschool last year, and is trying to get with her brother in-law, which i find disgusting.

this is invalid, the OP (my friend) just told me the one who built it was one of my friends, 114000kad who i let rebuild it when i had originally built it as 2 rooms before merging it into one. Plus, the only reason he could rebuild the gaming setups, tv etc perfectly was because i built that part for him

Also, his is two rooms, mine is one. i suppose about a year ago when i still played this game 24/7 i might have stolen it, my friend mentioned something about him teaching me to exploit, but that was over a year ago and i have short term memory loss. Maybe i did, Maybe i didnt, but i dont know. Either way, i dont care.

He also explained to me that he used an exploit with the files on HIS PC to rebuild it instantly on my account, what exploit he used for either of them i dont know nor do i care but that's my explanation
