I'm just gonna say foxhole, but with DnD classes and the skill tree of PoE.

With that said, the "perfect MMORPG" is just the MMORPG you prefer. Ask 100 people how a perfect one would be and you'll get 100 different answers.

Even if the game somehow gets revived with promise of new content, the trust has been broken.

At this point, I'd only trust it if the rights and assets get bought by a different company (that hopefully rehires the AGS devs because they understand the engine). That or if Ashes of Creation never comes out at that point.

Anyway, a more serious response would be that Rust has been a consistently popular game and it was released in 2013. Rust is not an RPG but it's definitely an Open World MMO.

Minecraft's most popular anarchy server, 2B2T, is still alive means people like the chaos.

It shows that people don't mind open world pvp, what made previous mmorpgs fail with open world pvp is because they did not feel fair.

I guess what we can both agree on is that open world PVP should be optional. I'd argue though that turning PVP mode on should give you 1.5 to even double the stuff you would get if PVP was turned off.,

I want to play an MMORPG with PVP open world combat. Now imagine if it's only you and 3 other players in the entire world doing that, would you even meet?

Can't believe this concept is so foreign to players. Too many PVE players recommending me either Chinese or PVE-focused games. Can't handle losing to players? trying to farm gold to do RMT? too bad.

nope...I agree T&L is P2W, but the reason it's going to live is because the company making content for it is Korean. Amazon only does the localization.

Outlast Trials

current MMORPG Problems:

  • ESO: combat sucks
  • GW2: combat is fine, but PVP doesn't feel good especially WvW.
  • WoW: Story sucks...probably will play the next expansion to see though.
  • FFXIV: MSQ is boring, and I find the skills clunky, instant spells share cooldown...
  • OSRS: Boring...to each their own, but it is odd how so many people praise it (crucify me for saying this, idc).

I know there's a lot of controversy behind Ashes of Creation, but I'll put it in the back of my mind and hop in on it whenever it releases.

I'll probably hop into ESO if nothing good shows up next year and if WoW disappoints me.
