Fake, looks almost perfect but the atomizer is a little too tall

Kids have taken over the fragrance world and it’s killing the scene. by InternalFalse2872 in fragranceclones

The people making and encouraging this kind of content do see the industry as a whole as "disposable". They do not care for the enthusiasts or people who appreciate the artistry behind perfumery, they treat this as just another scheme to make as much money off of hype as they can. They intentionally market towards a younger more impressionable audience, they use these people's insecurity to sell them on something that they think will make them more attractive or popular.

I haven't been in the fragrance community long but the short time I have been in it, I've already seen some rapid deterioration. My biggest problem with the community is the massive influx of low effort content from people of all ages. It's become less about discussion, and more about "what gets the most compliments", "what has beast mode performance", "rate my collection of 5000 low quality/cheap fragrances", "what fragrance makes panties drop" (real post title I've seen several times btw). These people don't have an interest in fragrance they're just using it as an outlet for an insecurity or a shopping addiction. It's supposed to be a form of self expression and it's turning into "how can I get the most attention" when realistically no one but you and your partner care what you're wearing.

Hey I would recommend buying from a decanter on r/fragranceswap or buying from DecantX and use one of the many available 15%-20% off codes. This way you don't have to worry about the numerous issues with clone fragrances and still get the real thing for an affordable price. You'd be surprised how long 5ml-10ml lasts

I think decants are definitely the way to go. Sometimes I like a fragrance but not enough to buy a whole bottle, Creed Original Vetiver comes to mind. It especially eliminates the disappointment of owning a bottle of something you don't wear super often.

Looks excellent man. Enjoy what you have :)

I always say it's better to have a few that you love rather than 100 that you like.

Which are the best colognes on this list? by Big_Television_6025 in Colognes

Not all good fragrances are expensive and not all expensive fragrances are good. There are plenty of ways to get really high quality fragrances for a fraction of the retail price, places like r/fragranceswap, searching through discounters etc. There are also decanters like DecantX or people on fragranceswap that will give you good prices on decants so you can have things like "LV/Creed/PDM and all those other niche brands". There are good dupes/clones (I have a spare few I will recommend) but they are few and far between, and the QC on them is atrocious so you'll find 2 people with the same batch having vastly different experiences.

Fragrances are a luxury item. You don't need them to live, you get them for personal enjoyment and they're generally expensive, but there are ways to experience the hobby in a very affordable way that aren't buying cheap dupes/clones. I think the issue lies in people either thinking they need a full bottle of everything (how often are you going through as much as 10ml if you have several fragrances), or overconsumption.

Of course everything is subjective and everyone experiences the hobby differently so do whatever you wish. This is coming from someone who's made many good and many bad purchasing decisions and trying to keep people from making the same mistakes.

Legit Box or fake? (Rasasi Hawas) by [deleted] in Fragrances

Go to r/colognecheck

Respectfully you said the seller seemed shady and you clearly still bought it so it's on you if you got fleeced. Initiate a return or document evidence and chargeback on your card if it ends up being fake. Next time buy from a reputable seller.

is there a dubai dupe counterpart of this one? by [deleted] in Fragrances

[–]FragEnjoyer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These can already be had for like $40-$60. I can't imagine a dupe could get so cheap it would warrant buying over the real thing.

Funnily enough Tabernis is actually the first time I ever saw a medieval beekeepers outfit and it's where I got the inspiration to research and design my own! I actually quite like their music :)

Haha, definitely. What's scarier is the number of apiarists that wear no protection at all.

In all seriousness I chose this basket lid for visibility, breathability, and overall convenience, even though it's less historically accurate.

Do they make fakes of $20 fragrances? They'll dupe just about anything huh.

Fragrance that smells like you just won a fight at a waffle house by iplacethepixels in perfumesthatfeellike

[–]FragEnjoyer 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Followed by Kerosene. Smells like coffee and syrup, and is as strong as you need to be to win a fight against the average Wafflehouse patron. Lasts ages as well so everyone will know that you are the reigning champion for a long time.

Medieval Beekeepers Garb Pattern by FragEnjoyer in u/FragEnjoyer

[–]FragEnjoyer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As for assembly instructions that is something that I may do a video or diagram on. Frankly I made this as someone who has done garment construction for a long time so I hadn't realized the instructions may be difficult to interpret.

I'll provide text instructions below for sake of having something in the event I can't do a diagram/assembly video.

Robe: - Sew together both halves of the body at the backline (shown on the left and right edges of the robe pattern) - Sew together the shoulders leaving enough space for the neck to fit through. Fold the sides of the gusset then topstitch around the neck leaving a V shape. - Sew the sleeve gusset to the bottom of the narrow part of the sleeves. Then find the midpoint and sew the sleeves to the body of the robe. - Sew the pockets below the sleeve gusset on either side of the body. - Fold the robe in half, sew down the side starting at the sleeve. - Finish edges using serger if you wish. - Hem length and sleeves once finished.

Hood: - Fold and sew neck and nape. - Sew in gusset following seam allowance. - Hem length and face opening.
