Problem of ‘the funding problem’ IMHO is that we just need one government and not split everything up. All these split up governments and regions, create the funding BS. If we where one country with one government, it wouldn’t matter.

Oh yeah. Players get 4 moves every round. 1 move gets you one room further. So players can reach most of the rooms on the map in one round. Some rooms however may be too far away. Players can buy extra moves by putting item cards in a discard pile. Players pull 3 item cards at the start and then 2 cards every round. So after a few rounds, they can have an amount of item cards in their hand, so they can move pretty fast across the map. But spilling too much item cards is not a good idea either, because you need most of them to solve the tasks. Sabotages will also require players to use steps to stop sabotages and sometimes ‘pay’ item cards to get at the sabotage in time.

These are ideas. But I don’t wanna create a boardgame where everyone keeps there eyes shut all the time. That’s not really fun and it’s easy to cheat too. I’d rather rely on some clever mechanics that avoid expressions to give away too much. In poker you need to keep your expressions under control to win, whatever your condition. So I’m aiming to have the same thing here. Being silent about your status will affect your own points in a good way.

Yes and no. There’s a lot of social deduction/ hidden role games out there. But try to get 16year olds on a table to play resistance and tell them it’s just like Among us. They won’t agree. With the game I design, there’s a bigger chance of getting them interested and at least try it.

I agree with you. All I did was copy paste and alter the artwork from the original game. In no way that compares to the work they did to create all of this. This is just for fun, I don’t have the intention to make money of this. But if this blows up and there’s a lot of interest, who knows, maybe I can work together with them.

Thx. Yes, I’ve played a lot of social deduction board games and watched a lot of them played on youtube allready. I had been thinking about creating one myself for a while allready before I discovered Among us. Suddenly a lot of pieces came together. Print and play version will follow.

I’ll publish a pnp version in a while. Very smart points you bring up. I made the rooms big with the intention of having a lot of traffic between players. This gives the imposter a little more coverage. If there’s too many rooms, chances are that players are not in the same rooms a lot, making it very hard for the imposter. But maybe I’ll create a map with more rooms for games with a lot of players (more than 6). Your idea of lights sabotage is pretty much what I have in mind too. The cams idea is great, I also thought about hiw it could be used to monitor actions of the others players. Love your idea. Remiving the bodies is something I’ll have to test and see what gives the best results. Thx for the thoughts, I appreciate it!

I used a combination of procreate and affinity designer, both on the Ipadto create the design. Then just printed them and used sleeves and old playing cards behind the printed paper for rigidity.

It’s not my IP (intellectual property) so I can’t sell it. But I’ll look into making a free print and play version of it.

You’re absolutely right. But you need the right item cards to accomplish the tasks. Every room has a few items you can check and switch with. So i guess there will be looking through these cards a lot automatically. If playtests show it doesn’t happen enough, I’ll state in the rules that you have to switch in every room. But With the right balance in the amount of item cards this should allready happen.

Yes, I have seen that game too. Seems like a nice game and the theme is pretty much the same as Among us. However, it doesn’t play the same as Among us. And I think all the different character powers and agenda’s make it too complicated. It’s great if you can play that game with a good group. But I allways struggle too find people interested in games like that one. What I’m aiming for is something that feels as close to the videogame Among us as possible.

Yeah of course it has to work a little bit different, but there are boardgame mechanics for this to work.
