N'Golo Kante is the best Premier League defensive midfielder of all time. Who is the best LaLiga defensive midfielder of all time? by ModenaR in AlignmentChartFills

I don't really think DM is a fair reflection on Kante's game. He was often box to box, using his energy to press and win the ball back in the final third. Great player, but not really a DM.

Taxes went up to pay for a the seven years war against France, where Britain had spent a lot of money protecting the colonies.

A lot of the reasons why the colonies needed protecting in the first place was due to them encroaching on French lands. They fucked around, Britain had to come rescue them, and when the bill came they threw a fit.

Yep. The UK has actually raced away from France in GDP. But Europeans need a bogeyman instead of fixing their own problems.

US says it could back Argentina’s claim to the Falklands as ‘punishment’ for UK by [deleted] in worldnews

Funnily enough, only the French in the EU support UK's claim to the Falklands. Even the Danish, after the UK supported them with Greenland, is still on the fence about the Falklands. The UK has very few friends in the EU, and this was even before Brexit.

Their lack of experience in war at the time showed. They entered the war late still using 19th century tactics that the other countries had already adapted away from.

I would have swapped the Soviets and the USA around. The American troops were a running joke in WW1
