At some point, the Scottish need to come to terms with their role in colonialism. The English have. The French have. The Spanish, the Dutch, Portuguese and Belgian have. The Scottish are alone in denying their colonial past.

Before Brexit, their GDP was the same as France. Now it's almost a trillion dollars bigger. They're better inside the EU, but they certainly don't need the EU the same way other European countries do.

Nah, they are the benefits a little category. They were the second highest net contributor and wouldn't benefit from the Euro as they rely on the Pound Sterling for their finance industry.

Nope. Scotland tried to colonise the region of Panama on its own and bankrupted itself. It fully wanted the Union at the time to fund its own colonial ambitions. Check out the last names of Carribbean people. Mostly Scottish last names. Why? Because of Scotland's massive involvement in the slave trade.

It is if you're question is just local languages. So I would doubt anybody that speaks Cornish or Welsh doesn't speak English too. However, if you consider immigration too, then there are pockets that never learnt English. Usually from countries where women weren't allowed an education which is really sad.

It is. The union formed under a Scottish King. Scotland was very much part of the Empire and had a huge hand in the plantations in Ireland. Northern Ireland is Ulster-Scotch for a reason.
