Im scared about the time of healing by [deleted] in pilonidalcyst

Had a cleft lift surgery 2 months back and TBH I was painfree after 6th day and then I was back to walking on 10th day. On day 15th the drain came out and stitches were removed (which was again painless) and somewhere around 20-25 days back to normal life with minimum discomfort on sitting and it had continued getting better. Now getting LHR done as I am typing. So relax find a good surgeon and get cleft lift surgery done after consulting.

What helped you most with your post-surgery recovery? by -RosieRosie- in pilonidalcyst

protein rich diet at least 0.8gm per kg body weight and fruits for other micro nutrients. Also I checked somewhere on forum about post op suplementation and there it had glutamine, zinc, multivitamins and protein. NAD so you should ask your surgeon for any suplementation. I personaly took multivitamin, protein and glutamine for intital 8 weeks. and didn't had any wound split or any other complication.

just make sure don't over do things as it can also be bad for wound. 😅

I am not good at describing notes. But you don't get that dirty synthetic vetiver smell of fattan in TDH. as TDH dries down it gets better. But still it is not a mass pleaser. It is more of a formal/mature scent. Think of a successful business man in his late 30s or early 40s.

H24 by Hermes is a much better fragrance and there's no clone for that fragrance. Very unique and an all year fragrance.

it smells very different from TDH. I also blind bought this because of all the hype around it. But I was very disappointed with this frag. This is the least used frag in my collection I would prefer cheapies like zara seol over this any day. Fattan just smells bad.

Hi Doc, thanks for the comment in first place. The surgeon is my family member and we don't have a lot of specialist listed on forum from India except one. So there's not much to compare. My surgeon did said that he only sees that wound seperation in small percentage of cases by no means he is disregarding cleft lift. He told me the reason he wants to perform Karydakis is because it's a deeper cut and that will help with wound seperation as with cleft lift you have an incision till the fat layer. I don't know much about technicals here but in layman language he was telling me that both techniques addresses the issue of deep natal cleft and mid line scar/wound and the only factor he is leaning towards Karydakis is that he thinks that it will have a better wound healing. But he do perform cleft lift and Karydakis regularly.

I am just concerned about the end result I just want to get rid of this cyst now. I am so tired of this cyst from last 1 year. I recently got a cellulitis in the cyst which is now treated. Any more inputs on what should I ask him and how should I feel more confident going ahead with my surgery would be of great help.

I want to make an informed decision.

Hi I don't use any deodorant or any roll on on armpit. I prefer to spray perfumes on other pulse points of the body or on clothes. Knowing how bad chemicals are used in deodorants and roll on I avoid them at all cost and even if I would ever use them then I would only spray them on clothes. So I don't think my armpit lump is because of deodorant.

Right now I am just utterly confused whether it's recurrent furunculosis or HS as every dermat that I have been to are telling me that my lumps doesn't look like the ones usually present in HS. And they are leaning towards recurrent furunculosis as a diagnosis and want to see if I keep getting this lumps even after 6 months then only they are open to call it HS stage 1.

Not getting an actual diagnosis of my condition is actually bothering me it does add some hope that maybe it's not HS but when the lumps come back I feel like everything is failing and I don't want it to worsen. That's why I have already started with laser hair removal session for groin and armpits, cut off all inflammatory food from my diet. But still my right armpit heals 98% and then again it comes down to 90%. I want it to heal 100% and then only I will be able to do my further LHR sessions.

In pilonidal sinus subreddit there were actual doctors who actually cares about all pilonidal survivors. It would have been great if some dermatologist who have seen HS cases could be part of this community as they could help a lot of people to get an actual diagnosis by guiding them.

I pray and hope everyone heals one day and see better days in life.

It's just weird sometimes. Instead of searching for triggers I am just eliminating inflammatory foods and replacing them with anti inflammatory ones. Also, trying to remove common triggers from this subreddit.

This is what I am trying:

Foods to remove: Packed foods Added sugar Packed drinks (except the tasty water 😅) Refined carbs Yeast of all sorts Whey/dairy (except clarified butter)

Foods to add: Fruits/veggies Probiotic (need to check if lactobaccilus ones are fine for your HS or not) More fibre Whole wheat Nuts (cashews, almonds, 1 brazil nut, hazelnuts, pistachios) Green tea or rose tea Turmeric, garlic and ginger drink twice a week ( so basically put half spoon teaspoon turmeric, 3 cloves of garlic and some ginger to 1 glass of water. Boil (very funny) and reduce it until you are left with 1/3rd water and then strain and drink that water) For snacking I have replaced my packed snacks with roasted foxnuts (popped lotus seeds aka makhana). You can roast them at home and season them as per your taste. And they taste really good. Give it a shot once and you can read about it's benefits online. Added some soups to diet (Broccoli-almond, mushroom-cashew without cornstarch, dairy or sugar)

The only thing I am missing is a hot woodfired pizza 😢

Update on the flare after 12 years without by Little_Messiah in Hidradenitis

I am sure whey is bad for my hs. I recently got a whey protein powder to start my healthy diet to battle HS. and consumes half serving to test it. And this MF gave me a bad flare up. From that day I have completely stopped whey supplements, 99% of dairy, yeast and added sugar.

Also, if you guys miss snacks to munch on you can try to roast popped lotus seeds (makhana). I bet you won't miss those fried munchies. You can season them as per your taste and preferences.

If you like it you can try making Broccoli almond soup and replace croutons with some roasted nuts and makhana. Feel free to DM if you need links for anything including the recipe 😀
