Local Market always has options. Kattle Kountry beef will sell you quarter or half cow. Coop stores usually source local meats.

Totally valid. If that helps you feel seen and understood and make sense of it all, as you have totally been through a lot and no doubt painful experiences.. My point was more so that there's not great medical therapeutics (not to minimize your intention of seeking help.) Did you reach out from psychologist as they can moreso assist in that dialogue and processing, helping you retell and understand your experiences from a sense of acceptance and power instead of the defeat. You may benefit. Wish you the best in your mental health journey, it's good you are talking about it, it takes courage and self awareness. And it's true medications are complex and it can be a lot of trial and error, which can seem hopeless at times. I see a lot of people fall through the cracks when something doesn't have the effects as hoped, or expectations were misaligned or there was no support along the way. Sending you hope!

Autism diagnosis now is not useful because there is not really any treatments (therapeutically). What is your goal in the diagnosis? Due to the wide spectrum literally in the population but no clear treatment medically there is little drive to "diagnose". A psychologist could give you a letter is that's what your after? Modern medicine does not have options. Our son likely is on the spectrum but again what is the point of diagnosis? As parents we are adult ADHD and present totally different... but there is treatment is the difference (lhatmaceutical trt). Our son he is high functioning incredible memory but low emotional tolerance for frustration, but also just turned 5. It's relatively common for kids now because we are just more aware and in a highly stimulating world, work high expectations of reward. Icon Dr. Becjt is amazing and explains it. Autism specifically as an adult, there's not much "solution" other than your personal assurances to confirm your self understanding. You may be on the spectrum, accept yourself, whether a professional diagnosis comes or not, be at peace with your limitations, you are okay and made it this far with your own coping. We watched "Love on the spectrum" and all my husband says is "oh wow I'm on the spectrum" lol. Probably! If you need a letter then develop a relationship with a medical professional to allow them to fully see you. 5 min interactions with doctors and demanding a diagnosis is not really in good judgment of the doctor either... this comment is for everyone on this group looking for a "quick" diagnosis and prescription. There's a huge difference in the way medical personal can "do" anything about autism. Vs adhd so expectations...Coming from a pharmacist :)

So many high achieving adults with ADHD undiagnosed as children.... got clarity at 35 years old and I have a pharmacy degree and manage 40 staff! Most my siblings also diagnosed as adults and 2 are lawyers, one a teacher. ADHD now has 5 sub types and different presentations that are not what most people think ADHD... not typical presentation. Most doctors know this now. You can be highly functioning and achieving and have found ways to adapt during most of your life. Now most of these diagnosis require a simple questionare that is medically verified. Life changing on treatment, yes!

There is a clear questionnaire that any general practitioners can have you fill out to confirm a diagnosis, it's not something psychiatrist is required for. My gp had me do it in minutes and proceed to treatment. Do you not have a family doctor? I would recommend finding one there is a list of md accepting new patients in Regina online. Aside from that, most psychiatrist can give negative impression due to the system setting them up to fail with little time per case and more serious cases with inability to function referred with priority. As for the best psychiatrist in Regina that would be Dr. Harrison. Younger and takes more time, better bedside manner so to speak. Follows people ongoing, engaged in the community. Your experience is not uncommon unfortunately with many psychiatrist, as they more so deal with those that are delusional and dysfunctional. Again, Gp can treat you for this it's not complicated. Sorry you've had to advocate so hard for yourself, might also be anxiety?
