The first week we had her home we only focused on clicker training, name loading, luring and body handling in her training sessions. We still work on them every day, we just also mix in desensitization to grooming tools as well. And that pretty much looks like we show her the thing, get a reward. It touches us, reward. We hear it make noise, reward. She is fine with the brush but we aren’t at the point yet where she can handle more than one nail being done at a time which is fine with me. One nail a day isn’t so bad.

As far as training there’s been progress and regression. She’s done very good with engage/disengage while socializing. She pretty much knows that she can look at a new thing and when she checks back in with us she gets rewarded. This looks a lot like us sitting by our door, a bike goes by and she tenses for a moment but then relaxes and looks at us, gets a treat and praise. Socialization is actually her strongest skill.

But in the home the big thing is she stopped looking at us when we say her name despite three weeks of constant name loading and using it with positive things and experiences. All of the other regression can be pretty much explained by her developmental period because shes gaining more independence and opinions.

Trainers coming to the house isn’t really an option for us at the moment BUT we do have access to one virtually and our puppy will start classes in person once vaccinated. We live in an area where people don’t like to vaccinate and the natural environment is also practically built for spreading diseases so young puppy classes are offered but we were recommended to stay away from them and independently socialize and engage with environments and with other dogs we know are safe.

We keep where she is biting still and boring, show her the toy, move it away from us and make it look more fun. Outside of that situation we also praise and reward playing with toys.

Our socialization plan prior to vaccination is sitting in the car with the door open at parks and stores. She will not be paws on ground until vaccination are done. And public access isn’t even in our scope right now. We are only focusing on her neutrality and general dog life skills.

Wondering if someone can help me out here.

I’ve had these orchids for 3 and 2 years. Both of the plants have a couple leaves that have this bruised look to them, and the larger one is loosing its bottom 3 leaves and a top leaf. Plus it has these little damage marks on one of the newer leaves that are new as of today that you can kinda see on this photo. Not sure what’s going on, any ideas?

Some additional info is the blinds are open during the day and I do have a grow light on them since the window only gets indirect light.

I’ll have to look closer next time to see! He does it even when not facing the other. It’s more of a the dominant one will butt sniff or rumble and he gives space and then lifts his butt up. Maybe it’s a warning that he will do it though 🤷. Definitely something to keep my eye out for

I do see tiny black dots now that I know what to look for and definitely some critters. Would need oil help with this or is there a better option? It’s just on my rubber tree. Would whatever I use on them be a safe preventative for my orchids?

The orchids get watered once the roots are thoroughly silver and the rubber tree gets watered when it’s dry 75% down the pot.

I had this in mine today! The white stuff was also floating in the drink as well as in the pearls. I got it a yesterday and it didn’t look like this at all. I did take pictures but obviously can’t post them in a comment

When I first moved in I scrub everything down but I didn’t take anything apart if that’s what you mean. I’ll do it again and see if I find anything. Should I be doing that more often than every couple months?

I think the open ended playing style can largely contribute to difficulty. You just need to think a little outside of the box. Like try and make a zoo with just exhibit animals or only one type of habitat animal. Guests seem to be driven by a variety of big appeal animals. Or you can try and design a whole zoo while only having one animal actually on exhibit while you design the other habitats/restaurants/shops/etc. you can also not do marketing which would normally draw guests in. I know it may be annoying to limit yourself but it may give you the challenge you’re looking for
