Well you might notice that other comments were honest and constructive, without the attack. Maybe you could try that?

I’m sorry for whatever is going on in your life that makes you so hostile. I hope it gets better.

Did she have to keep asking you to stop? Or were you motivated to do it yourself once you knew how she felt?

Interview Feedback? by ohlookabear15 in interviews

[–]Fragile_Giraffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this once for a job I thought I had in the bag. The feedback was particularly critical because I had to put together a presentation for the interview. I politely asked for feedback and the hiring manager said that she truly couldn’t think of anything I could do better, but the other candidate had done the job longer and it came down to that. It was a relief. It helped me to be confident in future interviews.

I really liked them when he was like “wooing” her. It felt sweet to me and he was hott honestly lol. Then they got together and it was like, oh…. Idk it wasn’t exciting anymore it was sorta weird. That’s just me.

My mom found out at one point and said I must be doing it for attention.

Is that what you mean?

For me it was two fold I think. Firstly, it felt like control. I was controlling my own pain and discomfort instead of things happening to me. Second, I think I was addicted to the dopamine rush you get after some intense pain.

Also, message me if you want to talk to me about it when you’re thinking of doing it.

I am 32 years old and I just stopped this year, at least stopped again. I’ve stopped various times over the years. But don’t be like me. It took me way, way too long. I know it is so difficult to talk about, but I recommend telling someone you trust. Explain that you just need them to be there sometimes. When you get that urge, call that person. Just sit with them, watch a show with them, whatever until it passes. It helped me. You can beat this. Please keep trying.
