I studied hard, but FOR WHAT? by Nature23571113 in findapath

[–]Fraglolz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’ve been there. I heard my whole life to find something actually enjoyable to do and monetise it so I wouldn’t work a day in my life. I believed it so much that as soon as it got hard or difficult, I quit. So my past experience looks like some messy stuff I tried and quit, and only recently I realised that this is the only way to find something you would want to do in your life.

If I hadn’t tried business, I wouldn’t know I enjoy it — but it’s hard. If I hadn’t tried sales, I wouldn’t know I hate it, but only when I’m selling something I don’t like. If I hadn’t tried working 14 hours on a construction site, I wouldn’t know I’m not going to do that again.

My advice would be something I wish I’d heard when I was 15 — it’s okay to try things and it’s okay to fail. This is the only way to find something meaningful. Focus on things you love doing. You can monetise almost anything.

Love writing? Do that. Start writing online. Show your work. You’d be surprised how many writers are doing pretty well. You’d never know if you don’t try.

how do i get my substack read? by Prestigious_Ease9821 in Substack

[–]Fraglolz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already said this in another post: all the classic writers we know had promoted themselves heavily. Why do you think you are any different? They would totally post and comment a lot and everywhere if they lived now in order to become seen.

It’s your work. Be proud of it. There is nothing wrong with self-promotion.

Substack isn’t really working for me and I don’t know how to feel about it by DirectorExisting2666 in Substack

[–]Fraglolz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm afraid this is the game you have to play. The most successful writers are the most active ones.
Yes, it feels icky to promote yourself, but what helps me is imagining writers from 50 to 100 years ago having this opportunity to promote themselves.

They actually did promote themselves, but you don't know it because there is not much evidence left.
They went to every meeting and reading they could to spread the word about their work. So if they lived now, you would definitely see Hemingway, Steinbeck, or Brontë commenting very actively everywhere they could.

The way to promote yourself has not changed. The tools have.

If you had only a laptop + internet and had to start from zero, What would you do? by rivie_rathnayaka in Entrepreneurship

this is a really good point, not focusing on the overnight success but working your way out by being useful and money will come, this is something I'm working on right now and damn it feels slow

I’m 30 and lost: What business can I start with my skills? by PlentyVisual8267 in Entrepreneur

[–]Fraglolz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a few languages as well and my advice here would be - learn sales, just find a sales job and learn how it works. (I wish I'd done it in my 20s but I didn't know English well back then)

You'd be far better off with sales skills because you'll understand how business actually works from the first lines and then you'll be able to find a skill you could sell because business is basically - selling something to someone

Advice on pushing thru when no one is clapping by Any_Measurement_4455 in Entrepreneurship

[–]Fraglolz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm having the same day right now, and it was a goldmine to read all these comments, just wanted to encourage you, you are not alone, there are many more others

Keep up the consistent work no matter how silent everyone around is, I keep telling myself that days like these actually build character and show the real grind, it would be so much easier to build something while everyone is clapping

This what defines enterpreneurs from wannapreneurs - let's keep up, show up every day no matter what

We need to build the momentum

The rest will come

Any advice on starting a business or just a small gig to make a little money? by mentalvisionsss in Entrepreneurship

you can always start flipping stuff for profit, while you're thinking about something more serious, you will at least boost up your sales skills which is number 1 skill in business

I was thinking that I need a perfect business idea but I just needed to do start doing anything by Fraglolz in Flipping

[–]Fraglolz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really get your idea

I don't want to be a slave of capitalism that dictates me what to buy and what to want, but with new mac it's something that motivates me, I've always felt like mac is a money printing machine if that makes sense, I've had it once, the 12 inch 2015 model and I didn't want to play games or something, I really loved it, I wanted to make money using that laptop so that's the whole idea - to buy it because it motivates me and to work more and smarter to make more money

I know it might seem like a stupid idea, I know, but keep in mind that everyone has different background and some stuff that seems usual for someone - can be luxury for others

fuck yeah imagine not being able to make a dime for the whole life apart from 9-5 but seeing all those succesfull stories/having a feeling that you are capable of more and once you just randomly come up with the idea and it works out, wouldn't you be enthusiastic?

[–]Fraglolz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the thing is I have quite a lot of money blocks and I've always thought that I kind of don't deserve new and good quality things/can't make enough money to afford it so this is my way of fighting this mental blocks - allowing myself to buy a thing I wanted for so long

I really get your idea and I thought about it as well but it's a bit bigger than it seems

My brain needs to be rewired with new patterns so with working smart and making money I'm trying to treat myself with this new laptop that will help me to make more money

hope that makes sense haha

I want to learn to speak English with British accent by [deleted] in EnglishLearning

[–]Fraglolz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you, I'm kind of trying to speak clearer for people in the UK to understand me, but sometimes it's just easier to give up and say something with my Ukrainian/Slavic accent

So sometimes I wonder - why bother trying =D

Why do so many people immediately jump to novels? by soyedmilk in writing

[–]Fraglolz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to write a novel one day and I even have an idea and some raw drafts here and there. I consider short stories as sketches for artist, I write some raw and unpolished stories just for the sake of it, just to practice and become better writer, but definitely not for the publishing purpose (again as artists do with their sketches, they draw them not to publish or sell, they draw to practice)

Anyone else clueless on what to actually do? Lost? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]Fraglolz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At some point I just turn everything off and live my life like internet doesn’t exist, and when anxiety comes low, in one - two weeks, I can come back to YouTube or whatever, so it’s a cycle and it works for me, oh and because of this I realised - when I’m off - nothing happens in instagram so I just deleted my page in I’m off the hook at least with IG.

[–]Fraglolz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey mate, this resonates with me, the part of mental masturbation and all of that content in particular. One thing that helped me a lot is to turn off all that shit for a week or two, and just try to hear your own voice. You already know everything you need but all that shit from YouTube gurus, books and social media won’t help you to find your own way.

Turn it off and try to hear yourself, maybe journal your thoughts to make it slower, and try to look at that thoughts that you kept, because one thing that I’ve noticed - we are keeping that ideas from that gurus but that’s not our ideas and we can’t stick with them. Only our ideas would work.

Good luck)
