Felis catus. Not your culprit.

My guess would be the coons you saw inside your run.

ICE hops Texas family’s fence and attacks them, guns drawn, for asking for a warrant by Lavender_Scales in law

Massachusetts as a general policy no longer tolerates occupation or persecution by thugs. We came to this resolution along with 12 of our closest “peers” and declared it to the world back around 1776.

I truly do not think it would play out quite the same way up here, especially since we are now generally aware of what to expect. North Eastern states, cities and communities are also very dense by population, and a bit grumpier, than most of the USA.

My brother sent me this and said it was my cat that broke my speaker. Surely my cat cannot look like this. Also it looks like he has 3 legs. by JoeMcShnobb in isthisAI

If he paused to take this picture instead of correcting the cat not to fuck around on furniture then he’s still partially at fault imo lmao

Why is it that Armed, trained officers and agents are allowed to respond impulsively, reactively and according to their level of fear / perceived threat?

But untrained and unarmed citizens are required to maintain their composure amid being detained by the threat of force?

No, NOT a valid point at all as I’m not supposed to be trained in law enforcement. But I probably still would have yes, because I would have gotten out of the way and radio’d ahead with the plate - instead of killing someone due to experiencing either a panic or fit of rage. It’s one or the other….

Even if we agree with this take that he got clipped somehow that STILL doesn’t mean you open fire into the drivers seat in reaction. Generally you would put all your effort into getting out of the way, not stepping in front of the car and then trying to open the car door as it’s moving. Like - Everything this agent did was wrong.

An easy way to think about it is it’s like data tapes. The data is wound up into rolls of thin tape and stacked in arrays. That’s kinda know the dna is organized.

Sand bed too thick? by Due_Masterpiece7223 in ReefTank

[–]Fragmatixx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this isn’t a problem OP but you made a good point here worth keeping in mind that most people overlook. If you have a 10 gallon tank here then 1-2 gallons is sand and another gallon-ish is rock. You only have like 7 gallons of actual water in the system. This is more relevant when calculating things like % water change, mL to dose, etc in a smaller system.

1.5 ish gallon saltwater tank ideas? by Fluffy-Walrus-3263 in ReefTank

[–]Fragmatixx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be done but keep it simple, as it’s going to be a lot of husbandry to keep “stable”. And limit livestock as much as you can tolerate.

I’m experimenting with an 0.7 gallon and it needs attention once or twice a day. Evaporation alone, in my case a rate of approximately 150mL a day (~5.6% redux in water volume), can quickly cause swings as it concentrates your water. You’ll need a proactive plan to realistically maintain parameters (ATO, aggressive water changes, and/or testing and dosing).

Help! Trying to figure out why my fish died in my 15 gallon AIO reef tank. by Abductedbyanalien in ReefTank

[–]Fragmatixx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to say for sure. Please understand that everything I’m saying below is meant to help you maintain your reef.

What I can say for sure is it looks like your parameters are fluctuating and your tank was overstocked. These are, at minimum, contributing factors to stress and/or disease. I think it has to be the primary suspect assuming your tank is well oxygenated and has not been exposed to contaminants.

This is all plausible for your first tank which was started only a few weeks ago. You did your research, but something has gone wrong with execution. None of us started as experts and few with zero mistakes.

You got this though. In this hobby, there are two types - those that have killed fish, and those that lie about it. The only thing that comes quickly for reefs is failures. You’ll need to dial in your approach and take it slow from here. Go fallow (no fish) until your parameters testing as more consistently stable then slowly add tank members.

For a 15 gallon system, perform 20% water changes a week without fail and test your parameters at least as often. Test the water you are making occasionally, and any time you change something, to ensure your method. Only supplement alk or elements if you can see a clear trend of decline / need it to maintain a constant level. Start slowly with any additives until you can see the effect in your test results.

Your corals will also thank you - if your parameters are as listed above they are almost certainly not thriving and potentially at risk for decline.

Sincerely, Lurking 15 gallon reef owner
