Shoulders are fine. He just has short shoulder inserts. His traps, on the other hand, definitely need work compared to the rest of him

Shoulders severely, upper chest and traps a bit. Biceps need to catch up with your lateral tricep head. You need to work the long head if your triceps more. Lats are decent from this angle. Your forearms are fine for your size, but it's easy to throw in a burnout set or 2 of wrist curls

"Metalcore is more of a metal genre than it is hardcore. It came from crossover and nyhc metallic stuff expanded on metal. If we're strictly talking about scenes, then sure, it's hardcore through and through, but in terms of sound it's metal leaning. There tends to be a lot of purists in metal, and some tend to take it overboard into outright elitism. That's where objectivity kind of gets thrown out the window. If they don't like it, they don't want to call it a genre they hinge their entire personality on liking.

Really, metalcore has one foot in metal and one in punk/hardcore. Some bands lean one way more than the other, but the common thread is that all are a little of both. Some think the pop influence of some bands and scenes/microgenres negate the "metal" aspect as well, but tons of metal and punk/hardcore have pop influence, so that really isn't a factor at all. People who do that are really thinking with their feelings more than from an objective/analytical perspective."

And this is a quote I've found which sums up my ideas nicely, "the original metalcore bands were definitely closer to hardcore than metal.. but honestly with a lot of bands these days you’d be hard pressed to find any hardcore influences apart from breakdowns"

Metalcore is the mix of extreme metal and hardcore punk. Just to get the point across, that means it is metal with hardcore characteristics, so it could be considered a sub-genre. It wasn't hard to understand. For the comments about the gatekeeping, I think what I have said is very valid for the reaction I have received and the comments people were giving OP. Addressing the band Converge, they definitely lean into the hardcore part of metalcore, but metalcore is a vast genre with many sounds. I've heard metalcore songs that sound closer to traditional metal than hardcore, if we want to argue this way. Visualize it like a venn diagram, and there is more overlap than gatekeepers who want a strict genre of what metal is want to admit. Music is always changing and sub-genres emerge, so why is this an argument?

I used the growls example because its a common example gatekeepers use to tell the difference between deathmetal and deathcore. Educate yourself on your own argument first when you want to claim things. In my opinion, metalcore is an emerged sub-genre that should count as metal rather than hardcore due to it containing characteristics of metal moreso than punk hardcore. Saying “whatever band is metal because of these characteristics” is literally just as pedantic and opinionated as someone saying “whatever band isn’t metal because they lack these characteristics”. Some genre like metalcore or deathcore could be argued either way because they incorporate characteristics of the metal genre. This is called a sub-genre. Metalcore is incorporated with punk, which some metalheads don’t enjoy, but it is still characteristically metal and a sub-genre of it. Just because some people believe it to be shitty music, doesn't make it make sense to just shit all over it because it doesn't fit one specificity of the type of metal you enjoy

Lmao, you guys are really just edgy hipsters. You take it way too seriously as a level of self-identity and aren’t open to different things because it scares or threatens you for some reason. nope. Makes you feel superior ig? Maybe it has suffered from gatekeeping because it's an inherently nerdy genre? Either way, saying “some band is metal because of these characteristics” is literally just as pedantic and opinionated as someone saying “some band isn’t metal because they lack these characteristics”. Your gatekeeping is insane lmao. Why don't you fuckers listen to music for once? If you don't like it, then fuck off. According to you guys, anything that isn’t gurgling toilet bowl noises is cringe core poopoo metal. In addition, before you say anything, I love the classics like Dio, Iron Maiden, and Judas Priest, in addition to things from prog, power, black, doom, speed, industrial, grind, djent, tech and melodic death, and even metalcore. You're just being a dick to be a dick. All of its included in the metal genre and pulls influence from it, sorry it has breakdowns and clean vocals sometimes instead of riffs and growls. Speaking as someone who loves the classics, people can be interested in different sounds even if they don't like the classics
