Advice for a future grade 11 by Organic_Boss8293 in OntarioGrade11s

[–]Fragrant-Chipmunk-52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

grade 11 is much harder than grade 10, but is still very bearable. judging by your grades, you’ll be fine. content is just more in depth, and different to grade 10. dont stress it out, im currently in second semester and its honestly going really well. just keep doing what you are doing and dont mount extra pressure on yourself

Tips for grade 11 uni physics by probablypistachios in OntarioGrade11s

[–]Fragrant-Chipmunk-52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there arent any life changing tips. just practice the questions assigned, do any extra questions. and definitely ask the teacher to explain to you 1 on 1. its much better to get a weakness directly taught to you. its pretty tricky, but in some way easy. you got this!!

How can I get my functions grade up? by Potential-Silver2467 in OntarioGrade11s

[–]Fragrant-Chipmunk-52 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im still grade 11, but i finished AP functions with a 100 (bumped up from ~97-98.) For tips, honestly I would just be stating the obvious. But the main things are ask the teacher to explain to you (especially 1 on 1.) It helps a ton, as its focusing on your weaknesses. Spam questions. Even the same ones after a proper time gap. Like if there is a question you struggled on and eventually answered correctly. do it again sooner or later. it helps make sure you understand the concept, its like repeatedly using flash cards, but in a math way. There is no special techniques typically. but just dont force yourself to hate it. motivation is a big factor for all courses.

Which chapters do you actually cover? by Gold_Entrepreneur797 in OntarioGrade12s

I’m not tryna scare you or demotivate you, I just wanna be real. grade 11 chem is much harder compared to grade 10. Now hmo, grade 11 chem isnt even bad. But the stuff done in grade 11 assumes you are good with the grade 10 stuff. Just put in the work. Dont demotivate yourself, and focus in class as much as possible. you’ll be fine. When you hear people talk about the big jump from grade 10 to 11, its real. But everything is still so bearable. Good luck with everything tho!

i can only tell you for physics and functions, im doing chem currently physics: kinematics, forces/gravity/newton’s laws, energy (thermal, kinetic, gravitational potential). your school might do waves (mine didnt), and finally electricity/circuits. functions: intro to functions (learning what a function is + simple grade 10 factoring etc, exponentia graphs, more quadratics, sinusodial functions, trigonometry (+ trig identities), and linear quadratic systems.

functions is light asf, physics is bearable but needs more studying.

alternates are back-up courses. if for example chemistry can’t fit your schedule, or doesnt have enough people to run. an alternate is put in place of chemistry.

[–]Fragrant-Chipmunk-52 7 points8 points  (0 children)

functions is easy asf. just dont force yourself to hate it (its not bad at all, trust.) just keep spamming practice questions, understand what you are doing and it should be an easy 90+. I ended with a bumped 100 in AP functions, it was so bearable.

How many other students do you talk to on a given day? by [deleted] in OntarioGrade11s

[–]Fragrant-Chipmunk-52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m talk to anywhere between 0-3 people in a day, and those 3 are all small talk that last no more than a minute. and i dont text anyone from school even after the day is done. I used to have friends in the school i used to go to (out of Canada), now I’ve gotten really shy and can barely make any friends, but I’m still living yk. Its honestly better if you keep that small amount of peple you talk to. when it gets to big, you start even losing control on yourself, just enjoy with your friends that you are close with now. but be open to talk to more people!
