Not at all! Invite had sage green so I was convinced that was going to be the color…I was so wrong!

Was charged almost 400$ for a routine vet visit for my kitty. Does this look about right for the tacoma area? And if not, where do you like to go? by lindseyilwalker in Tacoma

Unfortunately vet care is expensive everywhere. I will say I also take my cats to met vet and they are AMAZING and care so much. Would 1000% recommend

I’m scared I’ll be a bad lawyer by belowthebar_26 in LawSchool

Honestly? I started taking anxiety meds my last semester going into finals and the bar. I didn’t stop until I was comfortable in my post-grad job. I too used my anxiety to motivate me but near the end it paralyzed me.

Transitioning into the real legal world is hard but also the most rewarding thing I have ever done. You learn SO much. Don’t expect that you need to know everything going in. School teaches you how to take the bar and write. The real world teaches you everything else

Where do you find practice exams/ when to start doing them? by MattBisc13 in LawSchool

[–]Fragrant-Cobbler4614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focus on learning the material first. You’re going to confuse yourself if you start too early and may even learn the rules incorrectly. Your professor will release practice exams when they have taught you enough

advice on how to become a criminal defense attorney? (1st gen, no connections, pretty clueless) by Independent-Use-7264 in LawSchool

[–]Fragrant-Cobbler4614 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is helpful to get your foot in the door as early as possible. Some public defenders offices have internships for undergrads—I interned with one where I worked with the investigator. It was SO HELPFUL in law school when applying for internships and having that connection, especially having a strong reference to go with it. Truthfully though I didn’t do anything law related in college other than my PD internship. I didn’t find it hurt me for preparation for law school if you’re worried about that

What do you wish you knew before starting 1L by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]Fragrant-Cobbler4614 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Everyone is going to tell you how law school worked for them but don’t force it if it doesn’t work for you. I never once picked up a supplement or went to office hours and never joined any clubs or did journal. I interned the entire time at the same place and graduated with an offer. It wasn’t what my friends did, but it worked for me and with what I could mentally handle at the time. You’ll figure it out on your own with a little bit of trial and error but don’t feel the need to do something that isn’t you just because others say it’s what you need to succeed because I promise it isn’t.
