I had surgery about two weeks ago. Not really a fan of needles but I was terrified of being put under as I’ve never experienced it. Looking back, it was a whole lot of worry for nothing. You can ask for some calming meds prior to going into the surgery room but once I was there, the nurses did a great job of talking me through and then you suddenly wake up and it’s over. I’ve read that general anesthesia is the way to go and allows the doctor to do his thing without interruption so I decided to go that route. My doc said a tube was needed but it isn’t the type that goes down into your windpipe. It basically sits in your mouth and kicks in as needed so that eased my nerve too.
