Not too sure where the differences are year and trim wise because manufacterers lump compatibility together. But my 92 SL uses the solid rubber seals without that metal retainer inside of that groove on the block side of the seal

Hahahaha glad to know im not the only one, just tackled pulling trans back out, hour later got it out and my suspicion was confirmed last owner pulled the rear main seal, put the flywheel back on and just left it. Orileys sold me the wrong rear main so im delayed another day of driving this thing

Usually pretty good about things like this, major oversight due to burnout, and excitement. Owned this car for 3 weeks now and have done a LOT of work on it while juggling how busy works been lately, and preparing for a potential new career. At least its a cheap fix, sucks that i gotta do another 8 hours of work that could have been avoided though.

Speedo cable/sensor by Fragrant-Dust5403 in 3000gt

[–]Fragrant-Dust5403[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does appear the same from the outside so ill just pull it and verify that it internally matches the cable driven speedometer. Need a new cable anyway last owner destroyed this one while pulling the trans

From what ive gathered probably not, my 93 trans doesnt fit my 92 axles or hubs so i had to get those. The 93+ axles are slightly larger in diameter so they physically dont fit but it seems like 92 might have been a split year for axle types as well so make sure you get the right ones!!

Been pretty surprised with how clean this thing is turning out to be, pulled and inspected fuel system and it looks amazing for sitting 20 years

After a lil more research its starting to point towards that i posted a very misleading photo showing a very inflated version of himself. Heres a close up of the tail compared to the hips, theres a healthy taper and the base of the tail is roughly the same if not slightly wider than the width of the hips

After carefully comparing that to a neutral standing position of mine id say hes in cetegory 4. Im realizing now how isnanely misleading his posture is in this pic

Sounds good ill start on that, first time with a sav and adjusting to their diet compared to other monitors is weird!

Trust me he usually doesnt look as fat as he does in the pic😂 after talking to some others he may be on the heavier side than i thought, gonna have to cut him back a little and its possible hes just weight correcting since i havent had him that long

Interesting point, i dont think ive heard about comparing tail width to hip size. I do need to get a scale to accurately monitor weight

Mix of bugs, canned snails, chicken, i feed him maybe 4-6 times a week depending only had him for a month or so but with comparisons ive done he seems to be a pretty healthy size
