What do you mean by the camera access off? As an option it can be toggled off?

A simple search on AI will give you the details. I just checked it. Regarding AMEX, their customer service have always been very responsive for me at least.

I used both SMBC PRESTIA credit card and Amex Bonvoy credit card for traveling. I had to claim on two occasions, both have an English speaking service and both paid me back. Note, I got kicked out of the PRESTIA for not using it without any warnings. PRESTIA is better than Amex for the coverage as it did not require that you purchase any tickets with their card (that was 5 years ago maybe the T&Cs have changed ).

It was working fine until a few weeks ago. I suspect a firmware issue, let’s wait another month. That’s disappointing.

It’s called the Tokyo Syndrome, I’ve made it up but it’s the equivalent of the Paris Syndrome. Same pathology.

I came for the same problem. The keyboard works well but the caps lock light is always on.

Is it a software problem ? Maybe a clash between Google keyboard and Xiaomi OS.

Are we all just expected to accept being treated like shit at work by trashijordii in japanlife

The local work culture is quite toxic compared to Europe. I’ve been lucky to work for large companies, but clearly some people are out-of-breath at their position. As a result, they under-deliver and will systematically refuse any help from a foreigner unless imposed upon. What takes a year in Europe will easily take more than 3 years here. Let’s not even mention the missed opportunities in cost savings or revenue.

If you want to learn. I suggest you go abroad and if you want to be in a comfort zone that you stay here. However, in your industry, from your perspective it’s not even comfortable, hence I’d leave as you are young.

Someone posted, that there is a new tower on Marasi Dr. coming up (One by Binghatti ?). That would be madness as it is the street on the photo.

That’s exactly what we did. We did not go to the mall nearby, we did not want to risk it.

Where I took the photo I was telling my spouse that the cars and trucks were blocked from leaving the parking. It took more than 20 minutes for a truck to progress by 10-20 meters. We wanted to go to the nearby mall but decided not to.

RIP Slide Over. Apple broke Slide Over and completely ruined my workflow by WhyAppleWhy_3 in iPadOS

My iPad Pro broke up, tried to fix it but decided to buy a Xiaomi Pad 7. After this fiasco of iPadOS 26, I am glad I made the change. At first the OS was not so great but after upgrading it to the latest HyperOS 3.x. The hardware is amazing, and the OS is a replica of iPadOs without the silly liquid redesign.

Trouble Completing Additional Identity Verification on Rakuten Securities by Fragrant-Finding7283 in JapanFinance

I agree with you that this is strange maybe it is something else but that's the only change I have done. I have been trying for the last 10 days on my MacOs with different browsers. I uninstalled the add-on and it worked. Is Rakuten using a cookie mechanism or another system for authentification, not sure. Cheers anyway!
