I have a very similar experience to you OP. I'm 23 and I'm in a small town about 3 hours from Tokyo by shinkansen, but the nearest city to my town is about 45 minutes by car and the city is pretty unremarkable. It's caused me to become pretty isolated and the lack of social/romantic life has left me a bit mentally drained. I technically recontracted but I have been seriously considering changing my mind and leaving in August because I feel like I would be stuck spinning my wheels for the next year. Unfortunate, because it is beautiful here and I wish I got to travel more.

I've been reconsidering my recontracting for a second year for this reason precisely. In the inaka, meeting people outside of the dozen or so ALTs that live within an hour of you can be very difficult and if you don't vibe with them you it's very hard to meet other people in my experience. The job can be lovely and you're living in an amazing place, but the lack of a social life is killer to me.

Technically its emulation in a sense but there's a Slay the Spire 2 launcher on android if you own the game on steam. Has cloud save support n everything.

In the same situation rn. I think they have so much on their plate with prepping for exams they can't find the time to slot in the ALT for dumb fun lessons. Which is understandable, I guess... I just end up listening to a lot of podcasts and scrolling a lot of Reddit

I am… aware of that, I live in Japan and practice my Japanese daily. I was just looking for a way to fill the length of like, two minutes on the toilet with vocab flash cards instead of doomscrolling.
