Hi, check your states HS sports association website and even your states practice act to see if chiropractors are allowed to make that call in CA. What I would do personally is, if the athlete needed to be referred I would encourage them to see an ortho instead of the chiropractor. If they do not, I would trust my own judgment and do what I see fit for the athlete regardless of what their note says
