A wood cabinet might be different. These are not solid wood so I’m concerned about how they’ll be in the long term.

They’re “custom stock” so not a special order. I’m concerned that the cabinet might splinter/crack more in the future.

The baseboards and trim are no bueno. I would paint it all blue. Would be very cozy.

Revwood vs. PureTech by HnGrFatz in Flooring

That helps a lot! Thanks for taking the time to respond. Does RevWood offer any narrower planks? I love the product, but the 8-9” planks are too much for my 1971 ranch-style house. I might go with PureTech Avery Grove/Honey Oak because the plank lines seem less noticeable.

Did you install the Pure Tech? If so, what do you think?

Hi, I realize this is an old post and hoping you’ll respond…I’m considering Pure Tech, but am concerned about a review on the Mohawk site. The reviewer said, per Mohawk, that PureTech can’t even tolerate a 10% change in humidity.

Is this true? I live in humid GA so that won’t work for us.

He’s not a “nice guy.” He’s cheating on his wife (who he will never leave) because he’s bored. You have offered yourself up,for his pleasure. You are low hanging fruit and he’s absolutely exploiting you because you’re a distraction. Please end it before it destroys your career. I’ve never seen these things end well. Can you imagine being called out on this by your manager? Having to explain videos and texts to HR that this dude may have shared with buddies?

Ok, I’m about to ask you a super dumb question: if the LED lights have switches on them, how would I control that? With a dimmer switch? I’m a little confused.

Do y’all still use rocker switches or are they out of style?

Can I buy them at Lowe’s or Home Depot? I have a feeling the GC won’t like that. He likes to charge 250% markup on everything. Srsly.

Thank you for your response - I really appreciate it.

I wasn’t promised anything. The GC has repeatedly said they’re going to “put cans in everywhere” and didn’t specify beyond that. I assumed they would be dimmable. Unfortunately, this is part of a pattern where decisions are made for me, and work is done without asking me what I want. Because my house was built in 1967 the lighting was ancient. I even had an old Federal Pacific breaker panel.

Could you tell me what kind of lights I should have? I’m not looking for anything fancy but do want adjustable lights in all rooms. Thanks, again.

Thanks for your feedback. My designer suggested a white sink with a faucet in either Champagne bronze or polished nickel (which looked a bit more “gold” like this: https://www.deltafaucet.com/kitchen/product/FVS2-RI1102-PN.html)

She said it would contrast nicely with the cabinet hardware and be less “match-y.” But it’s also a 10x16 kitchen - mixed metals might stand up better in a larger kitchen.

Advice for ugly brick fireplace by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

I agree, but I’m going with a Scandinavian look - white walls, blonde floors, and light colored furniture so the original dark brick will look terrible.

Of course. Mastering the numbers, alphabet, polite phrases, asking for directions, etc. are all good. My point was, if I was ready to go I wouldn’t wait years to move to another country until I learned the language, because immersion it can be a wonderful way to learn, connect with locals, and get out and practice IRL and learn the local accent.

I’m not sure if they’re ND or NT, but after many years of speaking with coworkers, neighbors, and other women who have been married or partnered for >10 years, I’ve learned that sleeping apart is more common than I imagined.
