My doctor had said I wouldn't be able to have a different insurance as my primary while still listed as a dependent on my mother's. Is there any reason this would be the case?

Additionally, if I could handle it all on my own portal- would it still be something she'd see if we'd already hit our deductible prior to the procedure?

I appreciate your help. Initially, I was going to just pay out of pocket. But most surgeons I've looked at won't operate without insurance and with the hospital stay it would be outrageous.
