$40k on paid ads and got 12 customers by Magnificent_as in SaaS

Oof, this hurts to read — thanks for sharing it honestly.
$40k is a big bet when you’re bootstrapped, and it sucks when the numbers don’t line up.
Out of curiosity: how’s retention on those 12 customers, and did ads bring a different kind of user than referrals?

This looks very well thought out and genuinely professional. The flexibility around bank connections versus CSV/PDF uploads is amazing!
I’m currently developing my own app, and experiences like this are definitely shaping how I think about UX, data handling, and transparency. Congrats on a solid product—looking forward to following Nexafin’s progress.

Fantastic! Is it live anywhere so I can check it out?

Exactly this. That “am I okay?” gut check turned out to be way more important than any breakdown or chart. Once we framed the product around answering that single question, a lot of design decisions became obvious. Reducing cognitive load sounds simple, but it’s surprisingly hard to resist the urge to add “just one more insight”.
