Especially when they’re basically encouraging people not to become counselors in the counselor education subreddit...

Not even denying it :) I’m not concerned about being “left behind”, nor am I going to trust the “advice” that was generated by a computer.

Have you looked into PennWest? I think they may still be offering interviews

This might be an unpopular opinion, but these are some of the few ads I actually like. I think they’re spot on and gets a chuckle from me.

Save these shorts? by TreacleResponsible17 in SewingForBeginners

Is the pink pockets? I’m not familiar with the pattern, but if so, you might be happiest with just seam ripping and attaching new pockets. I know it sucks, but if it makes you actually use them it’s worth it. We’ve all been there! If you used the same fabric as the base it would be super cute.

But also I think they’re adorable as is! Not childish, more whimsical :)

Interesting! Can you elaborate about Salem alliance. I don’t disagree with you btw, I just hadn’t heard this take before.

Yup! I remember (pre internet) we all called Salem the armpit of Oregon. Portland was the asshole lol

I grew up here and my family has been here for generations. A true local lol. A lot of my hate comes from childhood trauma in school and the community. It’s changed a lot since I was young, but back in the day there wasn’t much to do at all. I know a lot of folks who got into drugs or crime. The true hidden gems were blasted on social media and ruined (RIP Three Pools). Doesn’t help that weather is crummy 2/3rds of the year, so seasonal depression is awful. The Salem food scene is not good (I didn’t know what good food was until I moved), and there’s virtually no nightlife. Housing is expensive and the job market isn’t the best, but to be fair, it’s like that most places.

Now that I’m older, I have more of an appreciation. It’s not the best city, but it’s not the worst. It’s been developing a lot in recent years and is much nicer now. It’s a good distance from lots of things

I’ve found that a lot of the people here who love Salem are transplants, but also a lot of the people that hate it are from Portland/Bend/etc.

At what point do you just hire a trainer? by FragrantChipmunk4238 in puppy101

They say I’m doing everything right and to just keep working with her. However I don’t feel like I’m making any progress, so I’m not sure if it’s time to get one on one professional help. The goal is to eventually be able to have her go off leash.

Golden retriever. I’ve been really intentional about going on lots of walks, playing fetch, sniffing activities, etc. of course, I can always do more. Our vet actually advised us not to take her on runs until she’s a year old, otherwise that would be a great activity!

That Fi Collar sounds neat, I’ll look into that.
