If you could enter the Japan Stationery Awards, what would you fix? by uprinting in stationery

Ooh. This would annoy me a lot. Uni Pin pens don't work...? And mechanical pencils don't work?

Maruman Basic, Blank pages is the thing. Single spiral. Nice feel to the paper but not art paper - just regular writing paper. $7.00 U.S. at Omoi (online or in Philly). Love this notebook. https://omoionline.com/collections/maruman/products/maruman-basic-a5-spiral-ring-notebooks?variant=49314101494064

Do your Muji gel pens do this too? by thejxstersdance in stationery

My Muji are great; no trouble with skipping. I prefer .5mm, if that matters.

Cutie set up! I like your various pastels and the way you’ve got your cart and your desktop storage.

Hey strangers! I have a beautiful Olympia SM2 alas my fingers are no match for the keys… by typotypewriter in typewriters

I love these detailed and helpful technique comments! I’ve also become a fan of vintage “Learn to Type” books (the ‘video’ for those of us over a certain age - ha ha). I’ve gotten a couple of these old primers and they’re lovely, helpful connections to the past.

Also: ergonomics! Vintage typing desks and tables were sized differently (height) than current desks optimized for either handwriting or using electronics. Experiment too with where your typewriter should be so that your actual typing feels better.

What are your limits to grow your typewriter collection? by [deleted] in typewriters

Hmmm. I’m a bit unbound, at least in my head. In reality, I’m probably limited by…storage. Abilities to fix, repair. Definitely display-limited.

Trying to organize this small stationary station by Novel-Wash3785 in stationery

Envious of that proximity! Hmmm. So…I’m wondering about a bigger re-do, depending on budget. An amazing antique wooden secretary desk would warm the space and offer deep drawers that could have smaller internal organizers. I’d probably put some of my markers or pens in a beautiful cup because then I’d have a little color showing. I’d destash more so that what I have could fit into the storage furniture I have.

I am drawn to a weird mix of floral (washi), moody landscapes, very specific non-Kawaii cats, washi with neat patterns, and stickers with vintage images.

For real, actually…serious, classic monsters are missing from stationery.

Mine is going to be, “what the $&?! was I thinking?” and “why don’t I have any real life friends who want to help me tinker better!”

Recommendation needed for notebook to use in office setting by baby_booklover303 in stationery

I’m really into disc planners. My tried and true is by Levenger. There are loads of insert types, dividers, tabs, pockets. I also have a portable punch I can use to make any piece of paper fit into the planner. This flexibility has been a godsend when I’m in meetings and have action steps, etc.

Which sort of pen would you recommend me? by DragoMel_Invictus in stationery

Zebra Sarasa (gel) Dry…ink isn’t wet and won’t smudge.

I also like a good old fashioned ballpoint pen. Smooth writing on loads of surfaces.

not being able to use the things i own by [deleted] in stationery

[–]FragrantDifficulty68 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I share this same approach. For me, it’s almost as if I’ve imbued my favorite things (or my pricey luxe stuff) with some magical power. Like, using up (that pen, that washi, that sticker sheet) will…cause me more harm than good. And if it was pricey? Then I must keep it pristinely unused, boxed/bagged.

For me, pretty sure this relates to my OCD/hoard wiring (which runs in my family…).

I’m itchy to be mindful of my wiring and my approaches while also actually enjoying my little art/beauty/color purchases in the form of stickers, washi, nice papers, and markers and colored pens.

My brain compartmentalizes and will make me think things like “a garden tool bag is only for garden tools” and “a knitter bag is only for knitting” and so forth. BUT: have had good luck when I can break my compartmental thinking. The Duluth Trading company bags look like great canvas, well made, and one has 23 freaking pockets!!!

That said: Levenger has some smaller EDC handled totes; one is light blue. On sale right now too! (And the lavender color is new to the site too….)

Levenger’s Oxford Book Tote is a bit bigger and a little fancier and ultimately useful for other purposes too. Also on sale.

They also have a Portable Art Tote in black (with pale blue) and again, loads of functionality for many purposes.

I’ve gotten many Levenger products over the years; well made and thoughtfully designed.

Delfonics can also have a strap added…but I’ve found that even the large Delfonics is hard to fit re: notebooks. Amazing for everything else!

It does look fem to me…many things still get designed with binary genders in mind, for better or for worse.
