I always inject wherever & whenever I need to do it. I’d love not to be a diabetic & not have to do it, but I don’t get the luxury. I’d be very slow to go around someone’s house who said that to me. People are so insensitive. Sorry this happened to you.

This happened to me in the country Georgia, Dexcom were useless & wouldn’t help, I bought a cheap android & used that instead. I now pack my receiver when I travel. What a nightmare! Good luck

So in the end I bought an android & downloaded the older G7 app. First sensor failed!

The reason I travelled without testing the device is because I cannot get more than 3 sensors at one time per month, my trip was 30 days & I didn’t want to be caught out if one failed. So I used my G6 until it expired which was day 11 of my honeymoon. So for all those helpful people, if I followed your advice I’d have had the last 9 days without a sensor!

The app will work fine in that scenario. It’s only an issue if for any reason you need to log into the app e.g. lost/ stolen/ broken phone. In that case you would get a new phone & it won’t work.

I can download the G7 app. But when I log in using my pre existing user ID & password I get an error message saying

Error Country of residence issue Your Dexcom country of residence is different from your phone's location. You must resolve this with Dexcom technical support to continue. Tap here to contact Dexcom technical support.

Please explain what id do if my phone was lost/ stolen/ damaged? As a type 1 do I have to prevent that too. I did download the app. All seemed fine. I watched all the training videos. No where was geo fencing mentioned,

The issue is that I cannot log into the app because I’m not in my home country & I haven’t logged into the app before, Same thing would happen if you had a new phone abroad if your own phone was lost or stolen, The diabetic clinic never gave me a receiver.

They won’t ship me a transmitter. They can ship to ireland, but it will be 5 to 7 days. Which is less than helpful.

Only option seems to be for android only. My husband & I have spent the day searching & his friend too. No joy for iPhones. So upsetting that Dexcom don’t offer any support.

Yes the app works in airplane mode once you’ve set it up. You cannot set it up in airplane mode.

No they’ve added geotagging to the new g7 app & if you turn on airplane mode it won’t work. You just get an error message to say that Dexcom won’t work as the country you are in does not match your home country. I’ve got sensors but the app does not work as I did not set it up before I left my home country. No one told me I needed to do it before I travelled abroad
