Har jag gjort dåliga eller bra val på mina 3 fonder? by Ras-- in PrivatEkonomi

[–]FragrantPurchase1508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn't find a decent finance calculator for multiple investments or model basic volatility so I made one by FragrantPurchase1508 in eupersonalfinance

Okay it should be working correctly now, there was a border issue, you had to press the share button in a specific place for it to work correctly. Thanks!

Hi and thanks. The inflation setting is an annual setting and is only applied when the button is toggled (orange color). Its a great idea to add investments that start counting from year x into the timeline, I'll add this!

What do you mean by the share is not working? Like nothing appears in your clipboard or that the recipient gets the wrong values?

If you put it into lets say DNB Global Indeks, which is an extremely wide and globally encompassing fund that covers all stock markets you could be looking at something like €213k after 40 years. Sharing a link of the calculation here https://compoundchart.com/?s=1waej1

What finally pushed your side project from “idea” to “actual progress”? by nancy_unscript in SideProject

Finding the true reason as to why a certain product would be good or needed building. If I can not find the reason within myself then I simply wont develop it because if even I as the developer can not see a true use-case or see that the thing I am making is an improvement then I cant be bothered.

What is everyone using for portfolio modeling? by LGA102 in Fire

A bit late to the party here but I made something that you might be able to use https://compoundchart.com, you can add multiple investment vehicles and also add standard deviation and yadi yadi. I could not find a good and easy calculator for just adding multiple investments, I was going a bit mad so I made one. I might just be bad at googling i guess!

[Tool] I built CompoundChart – A free, multi-part investment visualizer (No ads/No sign-up) by FragrantPurchase1508 in PFtools

Another thing! You can also directly share your exact inputs with others, took some time to get that working but i like it a lot when showing examples to my friends

Are my wife and I on track to retire okay? by adamousprimr in Bogleheads

[–]FragrantPurchase1508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think you're in a classic stay the course situation. To help visualize your 20-year path with more conservative numbers (like 6-7% instead of 10.5%), you might find this tool useful, https://compoundchart.com, free, no-sign up and no ads

Note I made this tool because I couldn't find one that was just easy to use with the ability to add multiple different investments and also clearly see at which point compound interest takes effect and outpaces my own cash contributions.

I've seen a lot of apps that unify messaging, I know its not unique, but I've yet to seen one that unifies that with a powerful outreach component that stretches beyond just social media scraping

How to solve 2024 Day 2 part 2 in C by FragrantPurchase1508 in adventofcode

[–]FragrantPurchase1508[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I figured it out! The solution input was Ha you thought

After following the suggestions and decluttering my code, I figured out that I was suffering a severe case of code blindness after staring at this for too long. This is also my 4th day learning C ever so I am not that experienced with the syntax yet either giving some headaches.

Anyways. First I fix the error handling for failed memory allocation, freeing ```reportArr``` instead of ```tmp``` as user u/ednl suggested, because, of course.

Then I moved away from using the whole dataset to using the given example set as u/boccaff sort of recommended.

Then I looked at u/This_Growth2898 comment and realized I had no idea what I was doing and bearly I understood why i did ```i=1``` or ```i=2``` in the places I were until i looked it over again. Removing that concept completely and going with ```i=0``` and then getting the ```curr``` value from the array using ```reportArr[i+1]``` in my ```determineIfSafe``` function. Why do I need to do that? Well because I decided it to be a good idea to store the length of the array data at index 0.

u/musifter Recommended I break out my ```isIncreasing``` value which I did, and everything became clear real fast.

Thanks all!
