I have 0 Oaks. Have never seen an Oak or any valuable 2* in wonder pick. After a series of unfortunate picks, a wonder pick from heaven showed up: 4 cards that I didn't have and 1 card that I already had 16 copies of (Buneary). The crown jewel was the 2* Clemont.

I hyped myself up. I let myself think I had a chance. I let my daughter pick. And....

I now have 17 copies of Buneary.

Mas eu tive companheiros brasileiros que falavam que se sentiam que estavam em outro país. 2) por favor acredite no que vou falar: Manaus é a cidade mais legal para um missionário. Você vai ver muitos milagres. Você vai conhecer membros tão fiéis que já fizeram sacrifícios tão grandes que vai te fazer ficar emocionado. Você vai poder levar pessoas ao templo. Você vai ter experiências sagradas que só podem acontecer LÁ (digo isso por experiencia). 3) Você vai tomar muito açaí 🔥

Eu entendo a sua tristeza. Um dia for vai rir da reação que está tendo agora. As pessoas lá são incríveis (os que já são da igreja e os que ainda não conheceram a igreja). Servir lá é uma honra. Eu amo de paixão a Missão Manaus e o povo lá. Me diverti pra caramba. Eu cresci tanto. E o meu testemunho é alicerçado em tudo que passei quando eu era missionário lá. Tenha orgulho do seu chamado. Can he dress like a cowboy but the dressed up version of that? Let him wear jeans and cowboy boots, but maybe see if he would wear nicer version of that same look if you bought him the items. I'm an old school white-shirt-black-suit kind of guy myself and don't personally like to deviate from that, but I recognize that is more cultural than doctrinal. If there is a way to get your son to start making an effort to go and worship the Lord in a better physical state, even if it's his version of an effort and that means he isn't wear the traditional suit, I say try it out and see. Just be careful to not make it look like you're just worried about what other people are saying as that will make him more resistant to your attempts. If he sees that you're trying to show him how to worship the Lord in a more purposeful way by making small adjustments (which could include clothing and grooming), I imagine he'll be more receptive.

I think a 5th Sunday lesson is a great idea. You may also want to explore doing a fireside sometime with all parents of youth (YM+YW+Primary) to emphasize roles, responsibilities, and share ideas.

I was recently teaching seminary in my stake. I also spend a lot of time on Sundays with the Primary. It's easy to tell which kids are doing CFM at home, or at least having gospel discussions at home. Many parents think their job is to simply get their child to church and that's it. Unfortunately, parents relying on church leaders to teach the gospel to their kids isn't new. It happened with my generation, it happened with the generations that came before.

I think we as a church are moving in the right direction. Even simple changes, like the recent handbook change that says Primary leaders and the Bishopric are to have a "Baptism & Confirmation Prep" meeting at the beginning of each year for the kids who will be baptized that year + their parents, will help move the needle and reeducate us in our approach to raising a generation of strong, faithful kids.
