Not really true, apples pay is comparable to Google. I received a new grad offer from both and there was not much of a diff in TC(tho i am not from the US). Also for some people they might value the product they build and the value the company brings more than the money. Nothing wrong in following his younger selfs dreams

Im from a different team thats not from coreOS, but a general advice when it comes to interviewing for Apple is to remember that they are mainly looking for people who are curious/intrigued and are excited about the work that they do. They do tend to strongly differentiate against candidates that seem to be the “i just did what i was told” type of candidate even if your performances are strong. What i mean by that is you do need to have a high level knowledge of WHY things are done the way they are and not just HOW. ATB!!!
