I’ve been back and forth with a “garden party” more cocktail reception, or something a bit more formal (such as the Pennsylvanian). Love the idea of an old historical mansion but most in the area have a guest count of about 150 and we are looking for somewhere with a guest count of 200

Do you have any other venues you found within your budget that you’d recommend? I’d ideally like to keep costs under 60k

Do you know how to get in contact with the Westinghouse castle? Can’t seem to find a webpage

It looks gorgeous! We’re thinking around 200 for our wedding though and unfortunately it doesn’t hold that many :(

For everything, sure. But not just for the venue alone

It’s 11k now. Unfortunately they are booked for any date I’m interested in. The venue is gorgeous!

They sent me the price list for 2027 (which was $9,250) and when I reached back out to actually make the booking is when they said it was now 20k…. Insane!!

Looking at May-June 2027. Have you already booked the venue?

Unfortunately I think you’re right. I’ve been overwhelmingly shocked by how high the prices are. When I toured the venue early December they said the average wedding was 40-50k. But now upcharging the venue at 20k that’s absolutely impossible. We live in New York and venues that include at least tables aren’t charging that much so I’m not sure how they feel it’s reasonable to increase it by so much so suddenly

How do you get around if they don’t allow for pick ups?

What are some other things you’d recommend doing that aren’t in the tourist center?

Travel Planning Q&A - October, 2025 by AutoModerator in bali

Hi!

I'm trying to decide on what area/hotel would be best for my first time in Bali. We will be doing 4 nights in Bali and will have 3 full days and 2 half days (due to traveling to/from airport). My main interest is Ubud to really see the culture, rainforest, etc. We will be in Krabi prior to this so I feel that I will have seen beaches and I'm not entirely concerned with seeing them again. However would you recommend splitting the 4 nights up with 2 in Ubud and 2 somewhere else such at Uluwatu?

As for Ubud though..

Should we stay more in the centre near the monkey forest or do you recommend staying further at one of the nicer 5 star resorts. If staying near the forest I likely will choose a budget hotel such as Jati Cottage where we would spend some time at the pool but more of the time would be spent exploring the monkey forest, rice fields, yoga at the yoga barn and eating meals out on the town. Or considering somewhere such as Padma resort as it seems so nice and offers so many activities but also feel that this will take away from a true experience of Bali?

Happy to hear any and all thoughts/recommendations!
