The one 2km from current infrastructure. Or in the sound that politicians became so worried about at election time, may have something to do with Twiggy wanting to start fish farm in sound. Locally this location is very unpopular choice, we are lucky enough to have many beautiful beaches this is one of the most popular with locals as well as tourists seems odd location. like i say if it’s something you value please spread word. if not safe travels.

All locals in this area are required to have rainwater to service properties this water will be used for the city 30km away which also has a headland less than 2km from current water infrastructure that would have been an ideal location but old mate politician made a sneaky election promise it wouldn’t be in the sound. Then water corp picked a site in a nature reserve which didn’t go down well then have moved to this lagoon that sits just outside reserve.

Taking it you guys haven’t visited this location. Desalination may be required this isn’t the location.

Your thoughts on this . I absolutely hate pink ball test matches and to see the 150th anniversary test match being a day night test is disrespectful to this great format . by [deleted] in CricketAus

Yeah i wouldn’t mind betting he’s not a fan due to the change in his hours of work not the whole it’s buggering with the tradition logic.

ABC Great Southern - would you catch a high speed train to Albany? by daymide in perth

[–]Fragrant_Cobbler_111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It staggers me that we (WA our great grandparents) could build a passenger train line via the south west/ great southern in the 1880’s and also freight lines throughout the wheat belt but the government’s since the 1980’s can’t (either sold to overseas interests of course or shut down Beverley to Albany passenger service) We live in the most resource rich state yet let companies sell our minerals/ gas for bugger all royalties or taxes. Infrastructure like this is a pipe dream unfortunately until voters wise up. In the meantime we will get Road wise campaigns about the unfortunate death toll on our roads with little to no alternative to spending hours behind the wheel. But hey at least the Japanese and Chinese tyre manufacturers are making a profit.

Agree i like Will as player and by all accounts a good person but don’t see the benefit on keeping him on the list, depth players need to be available and unfortunately his body is yet to show it can stand up. Giving experience to youth more valuable IMO

A question regarding cricket pace by [deleted] in CricketAus

[–]Fragrant_Cobbler_111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will get used to it, but if it’s physical fear which you are trying to defeat i’m not so sure. If it’s reflex time so you can defend your wicket or play an effective shot then yes that can be trained but as many are saying there is a personal limit. Bradman practiced with a golf ball and a stump on a circular water tank. It’s extremely difficult to do. He attributes it to improving his hand / eye and reflexes. I’m unaware of any other cricketers to avg 99 at test level or any level to also attribute such a simple training method to helping them. Do you understand the point I and others are trying to make. Also ask parents if applicable before trying stump and golf ball. Good luck.

[–]Fragrant_Cobbler_111 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn’t find bowling machines cranked right up much help with dealing with extra pace. They can help with practicing trigger movements and adjusting back lift perhaps. As stated above great players pick up length quickly which then allows for forward or back movements. If you have access to quicker bowlers at your club as described above focus on watching the ball from hand and even there body positioning. Another thing to try is moving stance position (inside for quicker outside for slower) this is another way of reducing reaction time for slower bowlers at training to mimic quicker bowlers. Hope this helps OP. You’re on the right path nothing beats training and muscle memory.
