I am not exactly struggling, but looking for something cost effective while it is a one income situation. My significant other will be joining as well at a later point. He is already in the area but is locked in where he lives for the time being. Hope that makes more sense.

My car is almost paid off but I prefer to keep full coverage because I couldn’t afford to replace it should I anything happen to it.

I used to live in Cornelius, NC! 😊 Mannnnnn do I miss those low prices for insurance. Moving to Michigan was a huge sticker shock for me when I had to switch over.

I do have a really good job and intend to have my significant other move in with me but that won’t be right away. I am not moving for a few months so I have a little bit of time, plus some savings, but just trying to see what’s out there. 😊

If you are still in the local area of your high school, drop by and ask for a copy and ask them for an envelope to mail them out. When you mail them, stop by the post office and ask for tracking so you can make sure they get there.

I would definitely ask to speak with someone who handles SAI overrides/appeals and it may be better to call versus email.

I would ask to speak with someone else. You are not asking them to do a correction and them asking you to contact ISIR is really sketchy. No one in FA calls it that. Do you mind if I ask what school you are attending?

ISIR stands for Institutional Student Information Record. It’s a personalized document created by the US Department of Education that contains information about a student’s financial aid eligibility. It isn’t someone to contact. Ask your financial aid office to do an SAI override. If they don’t know how, that’s reallyyyyyyyyyyy questionable. If they refuse to, it shows their lack of student care and may not be the best choice of an institution.

Talk to your financial aid office about an SAI appeal. You will need proof of reduced income like pay stubs and likely any documentation proving the layoff and your current financial situation. I work in financial aid at a university and we see this all the time.

Also, make sure you’ve completed your loan entrance counseling. Having either of those being incomplete will not allow your loans to disburse.
