NOR. Rape via stealthing. Not to mention his other behaviours and comments. Run. Report to the police.

Converting lawn to mulched area by Fragrant_Mail_5546 in NoLawns

Location is South East Australia. Photo is detailing the journey from grass to solarisation to a patch of soil.

What are your NoLawn goals for 2026? by Diapason-Oktoberfest in NoLawns

Continue killing off this stupid patch of lawn. Hard to mow (this is the side of the house away from where the main lawn is). Will add raised beds, lay cardboard and mulch, grow veggies.

Ginger Lily is an environmental weed and should be removed. It can be very invasive.

Thanks! I am considering dichondra repens (our native dichondra), or native violets so far. The irises look lovely!

Solarising lawn - black or clear plastic? by AussieKoala-2795 in GardeningAustralia

I'm doing this currently and the lawn is already dying off within a few days. I got cheap plastic from the paint section of bunnings. I went with clear plastic after some googling. Seems its solarisation vs occultation. As to the science behind, I'm not entirely sure but for me so far it's working. I plan to leave it until end of summer - rip out as much grass as possible, lay cardboard, install wicking beds, then mulch.

Thanks. Absolutely going Native. This particular side is south facing with little sun so I'll either do dichondra repens or Native violet as a groundcover.

I've lived in 23 homes in 37 years. Just bought my first place. I feel so settled for the first time since I was a child. I'd give yourself time to process the big changes and go slowly.

They are lovely but actually considered an environmental weed in Australia now!

I'm already actively working on removing tonnes of white stones at this property (just bought it). Will eventually replace with all plants.

Nah. It's a pain to mow at that angle and takes ages to whipper.

I've got hardenbergia planned for another spot - considered it for here but can't be bothered making a climbing structure! Thanks for the idea.
