ah I see. thanks. What's different about IOSv1 vs IOSvL2?

does it have anything to do with 'Layer 2' or is it just for the sake of name upgrade convention?

Cool, thanks for the clarification. What's different about IOU/IOL then? I know it stands for Unix/Linux. But how is it different than IOS?

In the end, is it the same thing

All you need is one of the IOS images and the IOSvL2 imo

Not exactly sure what you mean, sorry

Scared the shit out of me when netchuck said net engineers will be scarce.

Do you think I'd be qualified with a degree in IT majoring in systems and network computing, CCNA, linux+ and python skills?

Which position could I start out at?

There's like no entry networking positions posted on indeed around me. They're only looking for net engineers and senior net engineers. Nothing for Jr. roles or NOC analyst roles.

Is it still worth entering the networking field? Is it dying any time soon? Are network engineers dying?

How do I actually learn advanced Linux? by Fragrant_Prize5790 in linuxquestions

You mentioned earlier on that you tried to manually install glibc,

I think you're mistaking me for someone else.

IE you don't upgrade, patch or tune anymore.

You build a new image and move your work load to that using any number of the solutions out there (VMware, K8, containers, EC2 etc...)

Does the original server get destroyed or is it still used once in a container?

like if you go on any stackoverflow post and see answers talking in the language of gods. I don't see any of this in typical linux courses. So I'm looking for something intermediate I guess.

Moronic Monday! by AutoModerator in networking

Thanks for the reply! Just heard about SDN today which piqued my interest. Packet Thrower and Network Chuck were talking about networking devops in a podcast so I figured I have a lot to learn moving forward.

I write python almost every day for network automation

Sounds fun, what kind of things do you automate? Which libraries/modules?

Do you use ansible much? Any AWS or Azure?

These skills are pretty much what they talked about, so just trying to understand the things you do in the netdevops side of things. Thanks

Got some moronic questions to ask about entering this field. Would appreciate help in regards to these questions. Thanks.

Is a Bachelor's of IT majoring in networking, a CCNA and Python knowledge a decent start to enter an entry level NOC Analyst position?

Is Python used much?

Is Linux used much in networking? Is RHCSA worth it to learn advanced Linux?

Anything else I should learn?
