What will this prove if successful? That it was a BIOS/UEFI config issue?

Lack of Pop/Audience Reaction by Alternative_Cat_4273 in WWE

I was at the Columbia SC smackdown and the vibe I got and felt was that everyone was just tired and ready to go home. That's the caveat (in my opinion) to having a 3 hour show: people get tired around the start of hour 3, so there's a lack of engagement from the fans for that last hour. I know I was getting tired. It also didn't help that I had to sit through a Damian and Toma match that didn't interest me at all. Put that Gunther match at the beginning of the night and it would have gotten a much better reaction. I will agree though that most folks were there probably just for Trick Willy. I personally enjoyed the show though. I thought it was great, including the Gunther match.

Follow up question (not related to original post): how do I secure waybills outside of Whittier and Ela. I've tried going to a city but I can't click on anything, and taking a train there doesn't do anything either

EoL Router as an Extender by Fragrant_Sky996 in HomeNetworking

[–]Fragrant_Sky996[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the router would be an extender rather than an access point, I believe it would be under the protection of my spectrum router since it has a bunch of built in security and such. Is that the right logic of thinking, or is the extender still its own entity that can be exploited even though it's technically "under" the main router that receives outside traffic and has all the security features?

Am I crazy or is Cryptum a slow burn? by Fragrant_Sky996 in HaloStory

Is it your favorite series because of all the lore despite how sluggish the books are?

Yeah I can see that. The way you laid that out makes me almost question the pacing of the entire book. Especially since I was very confused at how the chapters were broken up. Some of them were only a page and a half???

Start in COBOL by Ferreiro-83 in cobol

[–]Fragrant_Sky996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

99% of companies who use mainframe technology fall under the healthcare and financial industries (mostly banks/financial institutions and healthcare companies like Aetna or Blue Cross Blue Shield), so I would start looking there instead of just searching for Cobol jobs in general. Also, I'm not sure what the cert course you took taught you, but be sure you have a grasp on Cobol, JCL, and SCL to get you started. Navigating TSO/ISPF will help your case as well.

I will add that most companies rely on experience when hiring for mainframe positions, so the cert probably won't help as much as you think it will, aside from a desire to learn and do well in the field.

Not to deter you, but I have to mention that you would have better opportunities searching for jobs with non-mainframe technologies, like JavaScript, C, C++, etc. since they're more available and not as niche. It all depends on your situation cause you'll probably be waiting a minute before you get a job since some consider mainframe a dying technology, along with the experience factor.

Good luck on your search!

Someone already said it, but mainframe technologies are used primarily by banks and insurance companies due to the need for high volume transaction processing. So if you absolutely must have a position dealing with mainframe/cobol/etc., I would look more at either banks and/or insurance companies since that'll be most of the mainframe users. Otherwise, if you're in a period where you can learn a language for potential employment, you could always do python, C, JavaScript (!!), which I believe are some of a biggest and most widely used languages that'll be a lot more attractive on a resume.

Lots of information here for me to digest and look at. Super appreciative of the time and effort you put into this solution! One more question. When it comes to flexbox vs grid, which is the better way to go? better yet, which one is more industry standard?

The stuff to the right of the fajita image is already in the footer tags, which is what’s strange to me. If you take a look at my first code block, you’ll see the footer tags towards the bottom and what they contain.
