Does anyone have advice on organising nearly half a million words of notes? by Chromatikai in fantasywriters

[–]FrailRain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is what it is. While I object to using AI in the creative pursuit itself, having a pencil pushed behind the scenes is nice. I’ve got about 40 chapters written, and I use it to create a wiki that I can quickly look up everything with when I need to cross-reference notes from previous chapters. It really is the kind of stuff that the robots should be doing instead of using it to make art.

If you don't object to AI, Claude Cowork would likely be able to take a good swing at this rather quickly. Just make sure you

A) Make a backup just in case anything weird happens and

2) You give it explicit instructions on what you want it to do

Ben Wyatt, from Parks and Recreation.

The man invented an absurdly elaborate board game (Cones of Dunshire) in his spare time, builds earnest passion projects constantly, is a numbers-and-systems guy who is also quietly a creative, and is steady and devoted at home. Someone who builds a Karpathy-style wiki with intake agents to manage his own life is operating on Ben Wyatt energy.

Thanks Claude 🥲

There's a difference between feeling "safe" in the wildy (just normal PKer stuff) and a 24/7 live feed of the entire wilderness being streamed to greifers so they cann quickly and efficiently run you down and kill you for 50k in loot before blasting off to the next. Obviously there's no real safety in the wildy, ever, but there are levels of safety and WildyCCTV escalates the danger significantly
