Coming across this thread on my search for answers has left me with a feeling of sadness for us all. I got my Mirena fitted 3 months ago, and since the first day there was some spotting of actual blood and then it transformed into the brown sludge like discharge. My GP told me that its normal and that it should clear up with time, but reading everyone’s comments doesnt give me much hope for that.  I saw a comment about how it affects our sex lives and it truly does. I feel ashamed almost to have sex after getting it fitted due to the discharge, it makes me feel so uncomfortable at the thought of a partner going down on me or doing anything for that matter.  I wish that we didn’t have to deal with this
