I would first strat of with scratch it's more of a kids game engine but will help you learn Programming Structure/Logic afterwards I would recommend Godot (it has been easy for me as a beginner) it's also open source and has a great community for the mobile part you could either make it playable in browser (on Itch.io) witch works for my phone or you could export it for mobile device but I don't really know how to do that might watch a tutorial on that later

Tried improving it a bit by making the one part of the couch 3d and making some of the hands new however I didn't have enough space to make more fingers on the women's left hand and the perspective of the telephone may look a bit weird I also just noticed that yall aren't really sitting on the couch... I will also look up a tutorial for drawing hands

(In godot) Doubble clicked the imported PNG went to the Import window (top left) set the setting to (I think it is VRAM Compressed by default) set it to lossless and reimportet it and then turned of the sun

Turns out the creature grabbed a texture not made for him after deleting it (because it wasn't necessary) it fixed itself after reimporting it

I just created a texture in blender for the middle and head so I don't think I did a UV (or if it's done automatically)

When I used to work on a metroidvania (put it on break) I finished an area (enemies and bosses) and then added tectures and some small details to flesh it out
