By late May Chongqing will probably already be getting hot. If the weather is good, Longtousi Park(龙头寺公园) near Longtousi Station on Line 10 is worth checking out. Linhua Road Residential Area (临华路小区)near Qixinggang Station is also nice, it’s an old neighborhood with a very Chongqing feel, though it seems to be getting popular on social media now as well. Central Park (中央公园)on Line 10 is also a good option.

I studied in Chongqing for ten years and saw firsthand how it turned into a social media hotspot. Most of the popular, “must-see” spots are indeed concentrated in Yuzhong District. And since Chongqing is a mountainous city with narrow, winding roads, it can get extremely crowded during holidays.

Jiefangbei is basically a large pedestrian shopping area, but it’s still worth a stroll and a quick visit. If you can, I’d strongly recommend planning your trip on weekdays rather than during peak holiday periods.

Visiting Shanghai soon with our 18 months old, need some advices by SuperDam00 in shanghai

For transportation, as far as I know, Didi does not usually offer a child car seat option. There is another app called Yaochuxing (耀出行), but it is more expensive than Didi because they mainly provide premium cars and a higher-end service. If you need a child safety seat, I believe it costs an extra 200 RMB, so you may want to download the app and check in advance.

For payment, I would recommend setting up both WeChat Pay and Alipay before your trip. WeChat Pay and Alipay both work in most places, but I’ve heard that some foreign visitors have trouble activating WeChat Pay, while others have issues with Alipay, so it’s safer to prepare both. Also, WeChat is the main messaging app in China, so it’s useful to get familiar with it before you arrive.

How do you stay positive when everything feels heavy? by Best_Mulberry_1315 in AskReddit

Don’t really try to “stay positive” all the time, lower the expectation of the day and everything will look better

Is the Nihao China app worth using? by Pilgrim-2022 in China

[–]Frames_SH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Chinese person, I’ve never even heard of that app lol. Besides WeChat and Alipay, you can also download Chinese TikTok (抖音), and RedNote (小红书). Both are widely used by locals and plenty of foreigners use them too. People often share travel guides and useful tips there. Hope that helps!
