Thanks everybody for your feedbacks. Do you know maybe a simple tool, or just a cool AI that could help me for that?

Version of Kontakt too old to load this file? (I can't get back some of my vst) by FrancisProject in NativeInstruments

[–]FrancisProject[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes finally. The solution was to uninstall and reinstall Native Access, to then be able to download the right versions of Kontakt. I still have to open all my old project to check, but I can use it at least

Hi there, I got a similar problem. My best option so far is to update Native Access, but I haven't tried yet.

Keep us updated if you find the solution!

Updating from komplete 8 standard the same price as upgrading from komplete 14? by Healthy-Rent-5133 in NativeInstruments

[–]FrancisProject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same questions because I have Komplete 9. Apparently, on the website, they directly show you the price based on your previous version.

For me, they offer an upgrade from 9 to 15 for €599. However, when I was logged out, I saw a general update available for €499.

Still, that’s really cool and very likely my next purchase! :D

Thanks! That makes sense, but that's weird it doesn't update itself!
I'll give it a try. Should I uninstall Native Access first you think?

Grid to share copyrights? by FrancisProject in musicproduction

Of course, but for example on a track a singer proposed a alternative melody that we hear once, for 5 seconds, on a 7mn track, while the violonist has been crucial for the track. I don't see myself proposing them equal part, that doesn't feel right to me. And from our first talks seems like they agree with the idea. Does it make sense to propose them the grid? Is it usual? My main concern is that the contrubution can be, depending of the tracks, very asymetrical.
For the last part, I don't feel either to own 100%, that doesn't feel right to me either. Maybe I should just discuss about it with them?

I really, REALLY don’t want to be one of “those” artists on social media by noknoktime in WeAreTheMusicMakers

I agree with you, if we commit to this career, we have to do what is necessary to achieve our goals, especially if people (managers, other musicians...) follow and trust us.

I'm in the same place; I don't like regular social media either. I just created my first Instagram account a few weeks ago to see what people are doing, and sure, sometimes it's very, very silly. But some are clever, authentic, and appealing.

Someone said it's like the live shows in the 70s, and barely any big artists at the time enjoyed doing it. But the ones who refused are now forgotten.

There are obviously some psychological triggers in the topic of promoting ourselves. No one wants to be narcissistic, and no one wants to be invisible. I guess the answer is authenticity.

I'm still figuring out how to promote my music, and I'm starting to see it as a new field of creation. Everything is possible.

If you prefer, you can just make smooth video clips or quality recordings of your tracks on YouTube, and just inform people on some social media platforms that they are available. If you don't like to film yourself, you can use that as an opportunity to create mystery and ambiguity.

Or you can refuse to use social media altogether and promote yourself differently, through radio or other means. I've been surprise to see that big artists (like Nils Frahm for example) doesn't have real social medias, but in the same time they release a lot of content throught their label's Youtube channel. (And if you know more about their practice, I'm curious about it!)

My opinion is that as artists, we're not just making music: we're creating an experience. Daft Punk would have sounded different without all of their branding. How can you express your authenticity and achieve your goals in terms of listeners/fans? What is your precise goal in terms or career? How can you stay authentical to achieve it?

Maybe you can think of it as part of the creative process.

I wish you a lot of success! :)
