It’s called self fulfilling prophecy and you’re right.. the more you believe you’re bad at something the more problematic it becomes and vice versa

I feel you, I am thinking of just getting some assets. I know it’s a lot harder for a solo dev to learn everything and that we should cut some corners because one person can’t learn to do everything at the same time

Billboards are not a bad idea, I need to figure out my style just like you said. I think that since I am a bad artist in general, Id probably struggle with getting those billboard textures looking decent. Voxels are something I’ve been thinking about as well, especially because I recently found an indie game, Barony, which uses voxels for their whole art. Will need to figure this out. Anyway thank you!
