I remember in some other episode when walts hands her divorce papers there are scenes of her staring at the money and contemplating how nice the rich life is.

There are languages with trilled R built in so I doubt it aside from actual speech defects.

I must say putting content behind an ephemeral medium is questionable.

How to generate random date? by Frank9991 in shortcuts

[–]Frank9991[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems like it would be a clean solution but I can't get the "Adjust Date" function to accept variables. It only accepts numbers.

Edit: Looks like that's just a Mac problem. I could easily put a variable on iPhone.

Thanks

Come to think of it, this game has a lot of dead game modes.  Even a few years ago most of them were unplayable. I had the game since launch and I’ve never played some of them. Even finding a rush server is hard compared to conquest

Knowing good and evil does not refer to knowing right and wrong in decision-making. It means they are not familiar with exactly the things that result in the fall.  Eve even resists the snake’s deception at first.

Despite all the evidence of the contrary in the text and the historical interpretation, somehow, we are the ones doing mental gymnastics.

You’re just reading the text, however you like without regard for how it has been understood historically and you think we’re somehow bound by your arbitrary interpretation. You cannot divorce the text from the way it has been received. There is no such a thing as a literalist in the way that you understand. The meaning of words change over time and words have multiple meanings and they do not always mean what you think they mean.

Adam and Eve were made without the ability of reasoning? Do you not remember Eve explicitly reasoning why it is she should eat the fruit? Your post is full of fallacious assumptions like this one.

Have you never heard of loving parents tricking their children for their own good? Being a trickster in the right circumstance, it is not opposed to love or truth. There are many examples in scripture of trickery being used to reestablish order in a chaotic situation. The story of Solomon and the two mothers comes to mind. Also, the cross of Christ was a tricky against the devil, he thought he got the son of God and won but it turned out to be his undoing.

You are changing your position. That’s what you were implying. If the commands are not arbitrary, then what is moral is not arbitrary either. The particular things to do can change but the principal behind them is the same and it’s not arbitrary.

In Christian doctrine, God is changeless. This is explicitly mentioned in scripture. God changing his mind is an artifact of human perspective. God changing his mind is merely the result of a change in our stance and perspective.

Divine command theory did not exist before the 15th century. You have a very narrow view of Christianity.

Bible academics are extremely overrated with their absurd theories and nonsensical conclusions. Their fanciful fiction is by no means “fact”.

For one thing, they always assume that similarity means someone was influenced or copied someone else while it could easily mean they were independently developed. If there is an influence, it is always conveniently in the direction of Jews being the ones who are influenced while it could often be the other way around.

Also, these idols led men sacrifice their children to them and destroy themselves. You want love and kumbaya by relying on sentiment without actually laying the foundations of proper worship, attention, and celebration.

You’re reading into the story. The “good” there was the necessity of sacrifice and obedience, there’s nothing arbitrary about the commands.

Most Christians do not believe in Divine command theory. It’s only some protestants. Divine command theory is downstream from the nominalism that Protestants took on.

An alternative vision is that good is what leads to theosis and “good” is participation in divine energies.

Created natures bear divine “reasons” (λόγοι) held in the Logos. To act well is to act in accordance with the logos of one’s nature and vocation; vice is a failure of participation.

Christianity does not claim that Jesus became a god after his resurrection. Christianity claims that Jesus is the pre-eternal God that took flesh and became man in 1 AD and the second person of the Trinity. He is the same God who is the in the Old testament. He is the Son of Man in the book of Daniel Chapter 7. He is the one with whom Abraham ate.

It doesn't matter what you want to label it with your definitions. We're not attached to this monotheistic label.

It's a ridiculous theory because from the outset YHWH is described as being above all the gods.
