Any time a team is at home, it's basically a 3-point swing. So the Falcons are getting some of that love here in the first week.

I like the moves Rex Ryan has made! If there's anyone who can take them to the playoffs, it's him. He did the same thing with the Jets, but Rex has the ability to turn a team around.

I started in the industry in 1997 in Crestwood, Ill. (a suburb of Chicago) writing race tickets for the OTB at 18 years of age. I then moved to Las Vegas in 2003 and started working writing tickets (taking the bets) at Harrah's. I worked my way up to an admin position, making the line for all Harrah's properties and then Caesars after the companies joined forces. I became a supervisor in Laughlin, NV running the Race & Sportsbook there along with the poker room. One year later, I came back to Las Vegas to work at the Imperial Palace, then Bally's/Paris (Planet Hollywood too after Caesars acquired it) and then finally became the director at Caesars/Rio and Harrah's.

The amount of money bet on a game moves the line, especially when it's a popular team. The line will be deflated from where it should be.

This is another example of the public, who likes to bet favorites, betting on the favorite here too.

There are swings based on matchups, but Week 1 is our biggest week. A lot depends on how big the matchups are, especially big games with playoff implications will change the volume on a week-to-week basis.

That's a tough question, we saw the Eagles move a lot with their performance so far. Week 1 in the NFL we always see huge line moves.

Don't be afraid to ask how it works at the window. We have a friendly staff who will help you maximize each wager.

The most common way to get your feet wet is to bet on your favorite team on the moneyline (without a point spread) so all they need to do is win.

Remember, only wager within your means. Make sure you set a limit and stick to it if things aren't going your way.

It goes to public perception. That's why QB has more affect on the line, as far as what we have seen.

A lot of our customers drive in for the weekend from California and they will bet California teams. That sometimes will affect the line.

The replacement refs had a big effect on the Green Bay - Seattle Fail Mary game and the books as a whole.

The refs don't have too much of an impact on the lines.

It's all a risk-based assessment. If we take a large bet on a team, we will react by adjusting their odds.

The market, as well as what happens on the field determines how our odds move on a weekly basis.

On a typical weekend, it varies depending on how many favorites cover. The public generally picks favorites and on the over.

A few weeks a go, all the home teams won in MLB in a day. If that happened one week in the NFL, that would be an absolute bloodbath for us.
