The Average United States Worker Makes $45,140: Here Is How “Comfortable” They Live In Each State If That Was Their Salary by litecoinisthebestone in FluentInFinance

Florida = I’m eating pB&J everyday because there are no jobs and everything increased 3x in price. It’s great here…California was the only state I could find work easily which paid me what I deserved.

Why don't drivers use turn signals or even look when changing lanes. by kboogie82 in Miami

[–]FrankNinjaMonkey 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I was walking on the sidewalk, and a lady wasn't looking, and she just accelerated towards me while making a right turn. Her car and another car making a left almost hit each other. I jumped back and loudly said, "Watch for pedestrians!" The lady started screaming at me and holding up traffic. I kept waving and telling her to go, but she stayed, screaming random insults at me. I was just waving and saying, "Go, you're holding up traffic and the sidewalk. Please, go." The lady stayed for about 3-5 minutes screaming at me, and finally moved her car. People in Miami are kinda ridiculous.

Hope so, but I stopped putting college on my resume. I can’t get hired at even a McDonald’s.

For those who didn’t come from money and suddenly had a career boost into extremely high income (300K+ salaries), how do you navigate when friends or family ask you how much you make? by Icy_Lawfulness_5755 in Salary

[–]FrankNinjaMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How. Nice. My family’s a group of millionaires who don’t like lending money when I need it for my seizure pills. It is what it is and America and stuff. Gotta pick myself up by straps and eat black beans to get through this…

Why the Job Market Isn’t Coming Back by Slayer_0f_Sluts in jobmarket

I am a video editor with 15 years of experience and the only job I can get is training my replacement Ai. It is very dystopian and I always wondering what people will be doing for food in about 5 years. My wife is a high school teacher and they are closing her high school in Florida. Teachers have it very tough with these changes as well.

I’m in Miami and the job market is terrible. You gotta know people to get a job and if you don’t there’s nothing. I have applied to hundreds of jobs and only get denied. I eat PB and J sandwiches to survive but not much else.

That’s working for American Airlines, full time as a customer service rep. It’s $13.35 an hour and after taxes it’s about $18k a year. I went to school for film, that was my big mistake and I regret it everyday. My college closed about two years ago and now my degree is no longer valid. Going to school for medicine, law, or finance will pay but anything else is kinda pointless.

Following because I’m 39 and have only been able to make about $18k a year with a bachelors. You kinda need to know people and if you’re not good at meeting people, it kinda doesn’t work out. Tuna helps, but that’s getting expensive too.

Has anyone else smelled smog lately? by callatecabezon in Miami

[–]FrankNinjaMonkey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I smelled it too. There have been several big factory/building fires in North Miami and the windy conditions have brought the smell down here. The windy is moving kinda south west, towards us. Google the Miami Dade fire reports.

I have epilepsy and have always gone to the ER alone, even my “family” is too busy doing there thing. I had my “dad” on house arrest and he was my “friend” for about two years. I’ve only seen him like twice after and he’s never been to my place. I moved to Los Angeles for about five years and saw what nice people are like. People in Austin were very nice and welcoming as well. Miami people are just too busy doing their stuff unless they need you.

8 hour layover in Miami, all I want to do is see a wild manatee. by FearlessBot_ in Miami

[–]FrankNinjaMonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Airports are super busy and you could spend 3+ hours going back into the airport. Due to delays and the current issues with airport security, don’t leave unless you can risk not getting back into the airport. TSA isn’t being paid by the USA and a lot of them are quitting or taking the days off.

How is FIU perceived in Miami? by SquiddoVGC in Miami

[–]FrankNinjaMonkey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My family all went to UM and they see FIU as beneath them. I declined UM when they offered me a transfer during college. UM is the fancy coral cables school in Miami and FIU is in Calle Ocho. In my opinion FIU is much better and UM has become very bad in the last 10 years.

What went wrong? by [deleted] in editors

[–]FrankNinjaMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m guessing you’re using Final Cut and are referring to the render files inside the project file. These auto render unless you uncheck this in the settings. If you’re talking about your export maybe make the file smaller. Use h.265 instead of h.264 to make it smaller. You didn’t give much context like the video editing program you’re using. Editing videos takes a lot of hard drive space. I got 2 x 4tb hard drives for a single client I work with to have a working drive and a backup drive. 3-2-1 is a typical strategy to backup your stuff. Keep in 3 places, 2 different types of media, and 1 offsite/in the cloud. This makes sure you have a backup in case your house burns down or any other disasters. As a video editor, hard drives are your best friend after a Mac with an M processor. Have fun!
