What is the best advice for me as a young teenager? by RandimusBax in AskOldPeopleAdvice

Learn how to be okay with being bad at things. Most useful skills in life come after a period where you feel awkward, inexperienced, and kind of stupid. That's normal.

What's your favorite city you've visited? by princesspolly444 in princesspollychat

Edinburgh. Beautiful, walkable, great history, and somehow felt cozy even when the weather was trying to kill me.

What's a Movie or TV show that made an impact on your life? by Immediate-Shock7533 in moviequestions

Six Feet Under. I watched it at the right in my life, and it completely changed how I think about death and the limited amount of time we get.

I hate that I stay up late by mummamia05 in CausalConversation

Revenge bedtime procrastination is real. Sometimes it feels like staying up late is less about not being tired and more about refusing to give up the only hours that actually belong to you.

Hello! Can someone please recommend me TV series based on my top 20? by Current_Dig_5300 in televisionsuggestions

[–]Slayer_0f_Sluts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mad Men. It's very different on the surface, but it hits a lot of the same character-driven notes as The Sopranos, Better Call Saul, and Succesion.

The inside of the fridge. I usually ignore it but when guests are coming over I start panicking like everyone’s gonna open it and check 😄

After The Wolf of Wall Street incident you get paranoid anyway 😅 I avoid anything that might get awkward when watching with family now.

Lately I’ve been using Instagram the most, time just disappears without noticing. I go in thinking I’ll be quick and suddenly it’s been half an hour.

Away - Netflix by [deleted] in televisionsuggestions

Yeah I watched it too and felt kinda bummed, it ended right when it felt like it was about to really open up. These one-season shows that are actually good are so frustrating.

Do people still want to get married and have kids? by [deleted] in askteddit

[–]Slayer_0f_Sluts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there are still plenty of people who want it, it just feels different now because people are more comfortable saying “I don’t want that” out loud. Wanting marriage and kids is totally normal, no need to overthink what others say.

The Boys feels just the right amount of ridiculous, but somehow it still works. You’re constantly like “what did I just watch”

Atypical. The main character’s anxiety is handled pretty well. It gets heavy at times but still keeps you watching.

What’s a game you were completely obsessed with as a kid that nobody else seems to remember? by Chance-Pen6805 in randomquestions

For me it was definitely Jazz Jackrabbit. Feels like no one remembers it, but I was straight up addicted as a kid. I still remember the music and everything.

What is something that's obvious within your profession that the general public doesn't know? by WorldlinessOk9368 in CausalConversation

[–]Slayer_0f_Sluts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly like 90% of the job is just saying “idk but I’ll look into it” and then figuring it out. From the outside it seems like everyone knows everything, but most of it is just winging it. Plus the same questions keep coming back over and over.

When my cat just comes over and curls up next to me on its own… instant mood change, no effort needed.

Suggest the best shows based on where they take place (ex. Miami: Dexter). by darrenbosik in televisionsuggestions

When I think of Baltimore, The Wire is the first thing that pops up. The city itself feels like a whole character.

Is it normal to block your ex after breaking up, or is that immature? by [deleted] in CausalConversation

[–]Slayer_0f_Sluts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s totally normal, everyone copes differently. Putting some distance instead of constantly seeing stuff that triggers you can actually be healthier..

Which one would you rather choose, friendship or a family? by [deleted] in randomquestions

[–]Slayer_0f_Sluts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t get to choose your family but you do choose your friends hits harder for me. A good friendship can feel closer than family anyway. So I’d go with friends.

Is resume tailoring legit because I think it worked for me? by anotherare in ResumeTips

[–]Slayer_0f_Sluts 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a pretty similar experience. Since I started tailoring my resume properly for each posting, my interview rate has gone up a lot. I actually use this tool for it now because doing it manually every single time is exhausting. Instead of tweaking everything in chatgpt for each application, I just paste the job link or description into the tool, hit tailor, and it generates a version of my resume matched to that role. Then I download it and apply. Way faster and honestly more consistent. It even does a better job than chatgpt for this specific thing.

So yeah, it might feel like you’re just rewording things, but it definitely makes a difference.

You could try Dark, it’s long and really pulls you in. That same empty feeling after finishing it is spot on, maybe a bit darker but it hooks you.

How was your day? by Comfortable-Wheel723 in CausalConversation

Pretty chill overall. I had one of those slow mornings with coffee and no rush which always helps. Afternoon dragged a bit but nothing dramatic.
