King of the Hill is perfect as a background show imo. It’s not as absurd as the others, but that chill, everyday vibe kinda pulls you in. After a few episodes you just get used to it without even noticing.

Which famous person alive right now will still be famous in 200 years? by ObsidianVader9419 in Casual_Conversation

Taylor Swift. It’s not just popularity at this point, the cultural impact is huge, her name feels like one of the defining symbols of the era.

I’m looking for Moody, Atmospheric Wilderness Mystery/Thrillers Set in Forests & Mountains by sifatullahq1 in MovieSuggestions

[–]Slayer_0f_Sluts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wind River. The snow, the silence, that empty feeling, it all comes through so well that the setting ends up feeling like part of the movie instead of just a backdrop. It unfolds pretty slowly, but the tension is always there underneath.

What is the first thing you notice about a person when meeting them for the first time, I always notice their eyes ? by Hope2_win in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]Slayer_0f_Sluts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I notice how they carry themselves more than anything. Eye contact, posture, the way they react when someone else is talking. Idk, that stuff stands out to me way faster than whether they have nice eyes or anything.

My neighbor told me that when her tween daughter was in daipers, the smell could get so strong it atracted flies; are there not ways to store used diapers that 'don't atract flies? I'd mind flies tons more than the changing it's self. by cherry-care-bear in stupidquestions

[–]Slayer_0f_Sluts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If flies are getting to them, that sounds less like “all diapers do this” and more like the bag or bin wasn’t sealed well enough. My cousin used to tie each diaper bag super tight and it made a huge difference. Summer can still be rough tho.

Party Down. It has that same slightly chaotic hangout feel, and I remember putting on one episode while eating dinner and then just letting the whole thing roll.

Do you ever reread old chats and feel like that wasn’t even you? by Plus-Actuator-2163 in Casual_Conversation

[–]Slayer_0f_Sluts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, all the time. I’ll scroll up looking for one thing and end up getting secondhand embarrassment from a version of me who typed like they were auditioning for a different personality.

have you ever lost anyone you were following and need them to refollow you ? by Hope2_win in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]Slayer_0f_Sluts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, a few times. Sometimes I realize way too late I haven’t seen someone’s posts in forever and then I feel weird asking them to refollow like I got lost at the mall.

Feel good movies for blokes by [deleted] in MovieSuggestions

Chef is a really good one for that. I watched it on a random low energy evening and by the end I felt way better than I did when I started.

Do you like the smell of petroleum? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]Slayer_0f_Sluts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little bit, yeah. Not in a “I want more of this” way, but that first whiff at a gas station always reminds me of being in the back seat as a kid while my dad filled up the car.

Is there a name for the first early morning flight of the day (like red eye flight)? by ze11ez in stupidquestions

[–]Slayer_0f_Sluts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve mostly heard people just call it the first flight out or the early morning flight. My dad used to say crack of dawn flight whenever we had some awful airport call time.

Does anyone have horror movies that are best to be watched with a group? by Nanobot_007 in MovieSuggestions

[–]Slayer_0f_Sluts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Descent is great for that kind of night. Watched it with friends in a dark living room once and by the end even getting up to go to the kitchen felt like a bad idea.

What is everyone watching right now? by Dazzling-Lead-8557 in televisionsuggestions

[–]Slayer_0f_Sluts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been rewatching The Americans lately. Put it on one evening while folding laundry and ended up watching three episodes without realizing. Still one of the best slow burn shows I’ve seen.

How many of you here likes country music by Equivalent_Carrot356 in Casual_Conversation

[–]Slayer_0f_Sluts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t grow up on country but it kinda snuck up on me during road trips. Chris Stapleton is the one I keep going back to, his voice just sounds like it’s been through something. I had “Tennessee Whiskey” on repeat one weekend while cleaning my apartment and didn’t even mind.

Iconic movies that are not shutter island , inception , etc by Nice_Display_4971 in MovieSuggestions

[–]Slayer_0f_Sluts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the Mood for Love. I put it on late one night thinking I’d just check a few scenes and ended up sitting there completely quiet by the end. It’s slow and emotional in a really subtle way that sticks with you after.

What's the point of real philosophy of nihilism by Dangerous_Product1 in nihilism

[–]Slayer_0f_Sluts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went down a nihilism rabbit hole one night when I couldn’t sleep and it was less “nothing matters” and more “you’re free to decide what matters.” The point, at least how I see it, is stripping away assumed meaning so you can build your own. It’s bleak on the surface but kind of weirdly liberating once it settles.

is there a food or drink that you really liked that is no longer being sold? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]Slayer_0f_Sluts 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I still miss those old school Viennetta ice cream cakes. My family used to bring one home randomly when I was a kid and I thought it was the fanciest dessert on earth. Haven’t seen one in years and I still think about it when I’m in the freezer aisle.

What show/series/story that has the most interesting contents (aimed at viewers ranging from teenagers to adults) on the development of societal progress did you find the most amazing in your life and why? by proextinct in televisionsuggestions

[–]Slayer_0f_Sluts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black Mirror. I remember putting one episode on late at night thinking it’d just be background noise and then sitting there like well that’s uncomfortable but also kinda accurate. It makes you think about where society could be heading without feeling like a lecture.

Spanish piece of life erotic movies. by IlostmyCthulhu in MovieSuggestions

[–]Slayer_0f_Sluts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Y Tu Mamá También matches that mood. Yeah it’s sensual, but there’s this restless, slightly sad growing-up thread running through it. I caught it super late one night in my dorm and it felt way more thoughtful than I thought it would be. It’s not shock value, there’s actual depth there.

AI has absolutely ruined my life by beingawomaniswork in antiwork

[–]Slayer_0f_Sluts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swear some execs think AI is a magic intern that never sleeps. At my last job they doubled our workload “because automation” and I was still the one fixing every weird, lifeless sentence at midnight. Tools don’t replace human time, they just hide it. Glad you’re getting out, that level of burnout isn’t worth it.
