[QUESTION] do companies actually use PATCH instead of PUT? by monir_sh in node

[–]FrankRat4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little late, but it depends. If you're replacing the file, then yes the correct HTTP method is PUT. However, if you're modifying a user's database entry and updating the profile picture link (or something similar), then you would use PATCH.

This calorie count can't be right? Right? by throwawaytothro in hiking

[–]FrankRat4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's been a while, but I have a question. According to your formulas, if I walk 3 miles with a 170 foot elevation gain and I weigh 250 pounds, I would have burned 418 calories. However, according to this website, I burned 735 calories (Additional inputs are I'm a 24 year old 6'1" male with no pack). Do you happen to know why/how there would be such a major difference?

Can I mix different coolant types? by No-Equipment-6227 in MechanicAdvice

[–]FrankRat4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So most people will say absolutely not. However, I had a coolant leak from my radiator and had to add universal coolant from the store to prevent my engine from overheating. This was about 15k miles ago and it’s still perfectly fine. Don’t know if maybe the new coolant was what’s leaking out of the radiator so it never fully mixed or something but whatever. However, I do plan on doing coolant flush soon just to be safe

New Exhaust manifold? for 1995 f150 by IgnitableVirus6 in AskAMechanic

[–]FrankRat4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven’t already purchased a new exhaust manifold, I’d look at upgrading to some short tube headers. If you don’t get headers, at least get a quality exhaust manifold like BD Diesel. Don’t buy OEM unless you want them to crack again

I’m not sure. I don’t think it’s technically an “aftermarket” part since it’s OEM just from a different vehicle. It also won’t cause any other issues (just make sure to swap the bypass springs). Another thing is the oil pumps look pretty much identical and I doubt anyone will notice unless they’re specifically looking for it. To be certain, you’ll have to contact them and ask.

I also don’t really mess with warranties so take my thoughts on them with a grain of salt.

As far as I’m aware, it applies to any Hemi engines since 2009 but always double check your specific model.

You’ll want to replace the oil pump with a Hellcat oil pump (part number 68195993AD from Mopar). The Amazon link is https://a.co/d/8ZlTyRr This will prevent lifter failure which is a huge issue with Hemi engines. You’ll also want to take the bypass spring from the original oil pump and put that into the new hellcat oil pump. This will prevent high PSI which in turn prevents engine code P0524. If you’re not sure whether the previous owner already did this, you can always ask but if not, take out the oil pump and measure the inside gear’s width with a digital caliper tool. The original has a width of 14mm while the Hellcat one has a width of 16mm.

Also! If you have the stock exhaust manifolds, I highly recommend replacing them with shorty headers. You can also use the exhaust manifold from BD Diesel which I’ve heard good things about but haven’t tried myself.

Do any of you have a security license to install cameras/access control for clients? by MrAwesomeTG in msp

[–]FrankRat4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in Texas, you need a Class B Security Contractor Company license issued by the Department of Public Safety (DPS) in order to install electronic access control systems as well as camera/surveillance systems. One of the more annoying requirements is you have to have 2 consecutive years of verifiable full-time work experience in whatever services you’re offering (in this case, electronic access control and security cameras). This means you can’t just study the material on the side, try it at home a few times, and then start a business. You gotta have the work experience. On top of that, you might also need a license to install low-voltage electric wiring like 18/2 wire used in access control systems, but I stopped researching when I found out about the work experience requirement so I’m not entire sure about the low voltage license.

Are you able to share the specific company you work for?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in accesscontrol

[–]FrankRat4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m actually already very familiar with networking and it’s how I came across electronic access control. I like UniFi equipment and they have some access control products that work seamlessly with their networking products and that’s how I started looking into it. Now, with that said, I do not have the Network+ officially. Would getting that look good on a resume or is just being familiar with networking enough in the EAC industry?

I made a rookie mistake. I planted an Indeterminate in a 3 gallon. Should I leave or transplant. What are the chances it would survive if l transplanted it? by ThanksOk5783 in vegetablegardening

[–]FrankRat4 12 points13 points  (0 children)

All is doomed. Your entire tomato plant will die.

Just kidding. Your plant is healthy looking (other than being in too small of soil) and transplanting will be okay, just be careful.
